Okay okay, I know the SIGSAUER Mosquito is super picky with ammo, and only likes being fed CCI Mini-mag ammo. When I use any other ammo it ends up failing to feed, eject, or chamber about 2 shots every mag.

My question is, do you think that i should just deal with it and only buy CCI Minimag ($4 for 50 bullets) or is there something someone recommends that I do?

Im still under Sig's word that heyll fix any defects, would this constitute a defect?

Or maybe Ive had my pistol over or under- oiled? How do you know when your gun is oiled enough?

I want to feed it cheap ammo, Id rather pay $2 for 50 bullets rather than $4: I shoot a lot.

I thank you in advanced for any advice you can give regarding cleaning or anything else

Far too many owners have complained of the same woe's as yours exhibits.  IMO the Mosquito is a piece of crap.

My advise - sell it and get a Browning Buck Mark.

How many shots have you run through yours?

I've heard that after 200 - 300 rounds it works all its kinks out.  I've put a brick of Federal through mine and it was terrible.  I switched to CCI and it's been flawless ever since.

I also keep mine rather wet and clean it after every range trip.  My cleaning system involves giving it the wipe down with BreakFree CLP.  AFter a thorough cleaning I wipe it mostly dry and give it some of the lube that came with the gun from Sig.

After switching to CCI and keeping mine clean, I have had no failures what so ever.  If you enjoy the gun and want to keep it, you should switch to CCI and clean it regularly.  Yeah it's fickle, but SO DAMN FUN!!

As for cheaper ammo, I've quasi-successfully ran the Remington bulk pack through mine.  It still had a few hiccups, but not nearly as many as when I shot the Federal bulk pack.

Basically, mine loves CCI, gets along with Remington, and absolutely HATES Federal.  Never tried any other types of ammo (yet).

Hope I helped and safe shooting!

Browning BM and Walther P22 can eat up any .22LR ammo.

I ve got 2 mosquitos. I use the Remington 550 bulk pack in them and they run with out problem.  I have had them about 6 months and have over 6000 rounds between the 2 of them.  What are the first 3 numbers for the serial number you might have gotten an old one.  The older one have a lot of problems.  Both of mine are made with in the last year.

I brought the mosquito in question into Shooting Sports Pro Shop where they took a look at it. They noticed a spring that is in the mag area was out of whack. Its some ejector spring or something, but he barely touched it and it feel out, so no wonder it wasnt ejecting properly.

Tomorrow theyll take it apart to put the spring back in there. Ill send 800 rounds down the range tomorrow testing a buch of different ammos and taking notes on every shot. Ill let you all know the results of all the ammo testings.

I have 2 of them, (1 threaded) with no problems with any brand ammo.

We have sold a dozen or so, all threaded, primarily for use with suppressors, which as you probably know can make a good running gun have problems. So far not one of the clients that purchased one has mentioned a word of any problems with gun or can.

We use one here in the shop for testing... stuff...  :) never had any problems with it either.

Of course your experience and mileage may and probably will vary....
