One day late last week, and then again last night, my GF and I saw a falling star in almost the same spot.  She lives just south of PV mall and her condo is on the third floor.  She has an arcadia door that allows entry to the patio which faces north towards PV mall.  So sitting on the couch watching TV, just to the right of the TV screen you can look out towards the sky.  This "falling star" was bright white and very fast moving as any other falling star.  We both saw it the first time and again the second time.  After last night, the occurance made me question it.  Both happened around the same time frame (+/- 2 hours) and fell in almost the same general area.  WTH else could it have been?  It was too fast to be any kind of flare, plus flares are bright.  This was bright, but not intense.  Also, being on the third floor and seeing it in the area we did, given the distance, it looked to be about a 1 - 2 miles away and approximately 700 feet to 1000 feet.  Highly subjective I know, but just averaging based on appearance/direction.  Also, the object was vertical in descent both times - no angle at all.

Now is a great time to see shooting stars.  They tend to fall in the same area of the sky but in all directions. Last year at this time while I was camping I saw over 20 shooting stars in one night.

To answer your question, these 'shooting stars' tend to fall at the same time each night in the same area of the sky.  Nothing to question. Just enjoy

This is the Perseids, or The Tears of Persius.
Big metorite showers...if the monsoon clouds clear, a good show.

The Perseid Meteor Shower has "peak meteor" tomorrow night.

The dog and I saw two Saturday night.  The appearance was mostly vertical.

Well, I guess I just thought it was odd.  Maybe I'll see more then.

Last week the space station was viewable twice heading SW through the night.
