Never thought it would be Russian, and I never thought is would be a shotgun.
I just cant shoot the sucker all day long and be very "productive" <––Wife's wording, the next day around the house.
Does anyone else here have a Saiga 12 or shoot a lot with the old scatter gun?

I thought about getting one of those funky .410 AR uppers from AIM Surplus.  Then I got to thinking... .410?  What would that be good for?  Plus, who knows if you can get replacement parts from Turkey or not?  They can't even get extra mags in.  Still, it's an AR shotgun... I kinda still want it.

The carbine one looks dumb, since it still has a 20" barrel on it.  They just "M4 profiled" it.

I would probably get a Saiga 12 if I ever saw one in stock anywhere.  They either don't get ordered for normal stock, or they must fly off the shelves.  I have never actually seen one.  I don't like to buy guns until I can go somewhere and look at one and hold it in person.  Last time I did that (not hold one first), I ended up with my InterOrdnance STG-2000C.  What a turd.  I liked it at first because it looked so cool, but I had to change the grip and the stock out before I could even stand to shoot it.

So you obviously like your Saiga-12 - does it feel like an AK?

No, it does not feel like an AK... It feels like an awkward AK looking shotgun... stock, then I put a Tapco grip and collapsible stock on it and it felt slightly better.  To put the gun back in Russian Military configuration, you have to move the trigger and guard forward...  With the Tapco grip and stock it is easy to control in rapid fire with 3inch slugs.  The receiver is a bit more large, about the same size of a dragunov or PSL.
When I first got it I was pissed, a lot of feed problems.  I bought a box of slugs and ran those through it.  Now it shoots shot without a problem.
The charging lever is the same size as and AK, so I just picked up a 7.62x39 casing and hammered it on (something I saw some Africans do years ago when I was in the Navy, prior to jumping ranks to the ARMY).
So... A few mods to the gun, those are too easy and cheap if bought off of ebay, and now I get to punch huge holes in anything I want.
The 410 version is a bit cheaper, and prob. a lot more easy to control.  I've heard and it makes sense to me, that that the 410 slug is still damn nasty.
There are a lot of videos on Bing.com.

I think those 410 uppers for the AR are neat, I wish I knew about those...

I borrowed one at a range from the guy next to me.  He had a pistol grip, adjustable stock, vertical foregrip, a drum, and a red dot on it.  There was very little recoil due to having three points of contact with my body.  I liked it a lot.  It was extremely easy to control.  I have to admit that charging it like an AK is satisfying as well!

Looks pretty cool....wonder if you can shoot .410 slugs out of it?

I have seen it on-line and in shops in .410, 20 and 12 gauge.  My 78 Y/0 Dad wants a .410 to chop and put on his bike when he rides... pretty much everyday... he is not one to pick fights, but he sure likes to go places where people do.

I like my saiga 410 alot.

410 is an experts bore. You can't rely on shot pattern to make up for your sloppiness with it.
