If any of you get any cool storm or damage pics from Fay, I'd love to see them. As a meteorology major, this is my bread and butter. Of course, I hope you all fair well through this one. Just remember it's early in the season. I've got some Katrina and Rita pics from my area from '05. If you could share your pics with me, I would appreciate it. Keep your heads down though, guys!

I'm on Ft. Myers Beach waiting for Fay to drop down on us. All of us got called in and we will be out here til she blows over. I wish I had my 4x4 SUV instead of this crown vic patrol car. If it starts flooding or surges, I'm beatin feet outtahere. If I get a chance I'll post a few.

Sounds good! The ground clearance of an SUV would be preferable to the 'Vic in high waters. Stay safe man.

Nothing major here just tons of sideways rain last night in downtown Ft Lauderdale. Lost power at 1am but was back on when I woke up.  Only a few branches on the roads on the way into work today. No flood spots.

It will be up there in a while. Not much to write home about. Wind and rain. So far uneventful here.

I was wondering where those stables were.  That's right down the street from my office.

I didn't lose anything, but my neighbor had a dead pine tree blow over.

Well, I have my hurricane helmet ready to go.  Water, food, etc.  Sadly, the camera (Nikon D40x) costs too much to have out all that much, but I'll try.

Yeah, I said hurricane helmet.

I shuttled from Lakeland to Tampa last night to early AM and all we got was mild winds with little rain.

It was a great night for working as there were few folks on the roads and interstates.

My pictures would be nothing but some downed palm fronds (probably a few hundred to be exact).

I do have a video of one of the local kids having his truck being pulled out, after driving around in a little hole in his friend's backyard. After he got stuck, the front actuator decided to crap out  - so he had 4 ruts, but only 2wd.... Took a 1-ton Cummins to pull snatch him out (1/2 ton Dodge).

Only a half-inch? Our rain gauge said almost eight inches!

We had quite a few roads flooded over and canals were almost breaching the bridges.

WESH2 says 16-20 here in Melbourne.

All I know is my street is flooded like crazy and I've had to drain my pool 3 times already because it keeps filling up my backyard.

Not real thrilling, but hey, floods suck.
