Police from around the world say they have broken up the largest internet paedophile ring yet discovered. Rob Wainwright, head of Europol, the European Police Agency, said the abuse network had 70,000 members and links to 30 countries. The operation has identified 670 suspects and 230 abused children. Detectives have arrested at least 170 suspects and say that number will rise as the international team tracks more of them down. |

Listened to an interesting debate on this subject recently.
The jist of one of the theories was that its a mental illness and should be treated rather than punished. A person is born straight and they naturally are attracted to adult members of the other sex. If it was illegal, they would still have those urges. Same as when being gay was illegal - people were still gay - its not a lifestyle choice - its hard wired into the brain. The same goes for the paedophile, something has gone wrong inside and they feel attracted to children. The law does not suppress what their brain is telling them. Thats a mental helth issue. Every 5 mins through the debate, I changed my view. And at the end I was as confused as I ever will be. I hope they are doing some sort of scientific research into why some adults brains are hard wired into thinking that children are sexually attractive. I would like to see some prevention BEFORE the crime is committed. |

Actually, the sum is smaller than I expected it to be. Tony yer but that's just the few they found , captive bolt gun should sort it The point I was trying to make, was in the article it said "world wide", it's a big world, nearly 7 billion people on this planet  .
Looks like we'd need a a small country to imprison them or hold them while they receive their much needed treatment, may I suggest Belgium . As they have had their own experiences in the past in this "field".

One was Lee Palmer, a 21-year-old from Cheshire who was jailed for six years in March 2010. He admitted abusing two boys aged nine and two and possessing more than 60,000 indecent images on his computer. |

A friend of ours sits on the parole panel for the courts of this land dealing with sex offenders. The serious stuff as well. Shes a Dr of Psychology & evaluates them pre-sentence & @ parole. A few yrs ago she said that they are treatable & it is an illness... We said..they're genetically wired that way & have a pre-disposition to be a nonse.
Well, a couple of FUBARS after parole hearings have put these, no longer a threat cases back into society have gradually bought about a sway in views from our optimistic friend. I say, castrate the bastards. |

Hetrosexual is hetrosexual and cannot be cured Homosexual is homosexual and cannot be cured lesbian is lesbian and cannot be cured paedophile is paedophile and cannot be cured It's the way we are...our orientation cannot be cured/changed or rehabilitated Therefore when a paedophile is identified, we know we cannot change them. They will always be a threat to our children Therfore They should be kept out of society..I dont care if we are talking jail or a mental institution etc Call it internment, whatever...they will always be a risk never release them. yet the judicial system continues to release these beasts back on the streets....they are still what they are A threat... There is one caveat.....a dead paedophile is an ex-paedophile...thus cured.  Taffy Paedophiles...punishment don't work, rehabilitation don't work......just keep them detained...always works |

I used to be of the opinion that they should be locked up or treated, and when some psycho-terrorist thinks they are fit for release, that same psycho-terrorist is held personally responsible for that persons actions in the future, ie he re-offends they both go to jail for the same stretch. His family are re-housed in the area from where the victim lives and the state takes all of their possessions and riches to pay for the long-term care of the victim. Them psycho-terrorists would then tread very carefully when faced with such decision making.
These days, my take is lock them in a room with no windows or lighting and don't give them any food or water, after three weeks, remove body, bury body, steam clean room ready for the next occupant. Oh, "human rights", yes victims have them to. Tony |
