Has anyone done any dealings with Final Option, their home base is in St. Cloud at Del-Tone Gun Range. I ran across their website from another website I frequent.    www. finaloption.org
Their classes look very interesting and fairly reasonable.

We the DPMS sales staff recently went thru the Advanced Urban Rifle Operators Course taught by Tony from Final Option. At the end of the course we all said one word about it, WOW! Tony from Final Option was very professional Instructor. He has the experience and extensive knowledge in tactical firearms training.
Everyone from our sales staff learned a thing or two that day. Even the guys with military and law enforcement training! The great thing about the course is that it is based on "real world" situations. The course was outstanding and well worth every penny! We cannot say enough good things about Final Option.

Check it out.

Their website looks interesting.  I'd like to see what their 2006 calendar looks like and where they train.

I took a 2 day pistol class from them a couple years ago. Tony and Tim are Minneapolis SWAT officers and are very knowledgeable. They have some great steel equipment and it was a good time. I was a new carry permit holder at the time and it did a lot to help me understand exactly what I was getting in to. Everyone in the class I talked to was very happy with the training.

I have discussed Final Option with some former students of Tony Caspers, and gotten mixed reviews.
Attending a Reactive Handgun class has crossed my mind, just to see what it’s about.

Minneapolis SWAT, are they the same ones who shot down one of their own (Duy Nogh) with a MP5?????

Correct me if I am wrong,  wasn't the weapon  not supposed to be with the SWAT Officer at the time because it was not a SWAT Call up???

Is the SWAT officer an instructor at Final Option, and if not why is it even relevant???

DPMS, Skippyputz, and AlreadyThere have given reports and they report very favorable classes. We are very fortunate to have so many high class instructors in this state.

I am hesitant to post their comments here. As I have not taken a class from Final Option personally, I can neither endorse them nor do I wish to discourage anyone here from seeking their instruction. I would however be happy to share their comments with you, or anyone interested in the information, in the form of IM’s.
As a disclaimer of sorts I will add that the favorable opinions I mentioned have all come from people affiliated with DPMS (who hosts Final Option classes), and all the negative response has come from people involved with LE or Security professions, or have previously taken classes with well respected, big name instructors (Pat Rogers, James Yeager, Greg Sullivan, Louis Awerbuck, etc.). Therefore they may have different expectations of the training Final Option provides than the average private citizen would.

point well taken, but there are some people who would complain about any self defense classes and that includes Gunsite, Thunder Ranch, Gabe Suarez, and just about all of the nationally and world known instructors. You can't please everyone, and most instructors have their own ideas about the methods they teach.
Please IM me with the comments and names from those former students of Final Option and how I can get in contact with them since I am interested in taking classes with Final Option.

Final Option vs Front Site vs
Has anyone takin classes from more then one place and how do they compare?
With front site $150 price with coupon and throwing in air and hotels the prices are comprable.
I wonder what the weathers like in Nevada about now?

I was thinking of taking a 2 day handgun course at Front Site the next time I go to LV if they are still in business, instead of going in a travel club for the usual 3-4 day stay would probably try to get a time share for a full week and do it then. Anyway the weather has to be better than it is here now.

Hello everone, got an email and they told me Final Option came up on this board.  Although I do not spend time on forums, thought I might as will introduce myself and Final Option Inc.

My name is Tony Caspers and I am the president of Final Option Inc.

Final Option is a Military/government based training company.  We do offer some very limited unrestricted courses.  Our unrestricted course instructors are full time/part SWAT officers.  Our lead instructors have no less than 10 years SWAT experience with between 900 and 1500 tactical deployments/high risk warrants. (this is about 8x more than most SWAT officers see in their career)  We are also proud to say we currently have 4 instructors over in Iraq, representing the US!

Our instructors teach from “real world” experiences, not by how many schools/instructors they can rattle off or certificates on the wall.

Although we are a nation wide mobile company, are home base range is DPMS/Del-tone in St. Cloud.  DPMS has been outstanding in their support and support within the training/shooting industry.  We are happy to have them for our base range.

If anybody has questions about our company or about our instructor staff please call us directly and we will be happy to chat about what ever you heard or think.  We take pride in having an open door for all our students.

We have posted our most current course review from Concealed Carry Magazine on our website.,  www.finaloption.org reviewing one of our advanced handgun courses.

Keep you head downa and your mags full
Thanks for you time gentleman,

Tony

I still don't understand "reactive shooting"

Do you use your sights?

Or is it like point shooting?

Why is speed so important?

What is covered in your basic CC class how many rounds are fired?

thank you 451
