My FIL drove here from Oregon (where he is a resident) on his way to Fla. He is giving my wife a black powder rifle. Since he transported it to GA and he is giving it to her while he is here, do we need to do any kind of paperwork? A gift receipt? FFL transfer?

I would think gifts, especially blackpowder rifles, would not need the FFL.

But I am not a lawyer and I only pretend to be a 12 year old girl on the intarweb.

BUT, now that you have posted it on a public forum, you're humped!

Thanks for the info. guys.  Never had any interest in BP firearms until I the wife got one for free.  I guess I'll have to RTFM and try it out.  Should be fun.
