during a H4H shoot yesterday, the guys from firebird reactive targets gave us some to play with,
for those of you that have never seen them, they are so much fun and work with everything from air rifle upwards

here is what they did when we shot them

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTrVjczF92c

and aparently they give an even bigger affect if you double stack them but i couldn't comment on that

Are they what Dave Green had at diggle last weekend, a 2inch or so orange disc ????

Got any pics of the reactive targets ???

When I saw them mentioned in Shooting Sports, I was thinking of a rifle application rather than the intended clay pidgeon application.

Would certainly make for a fun shoot if stuck in the x ring - no doubt about whether you hit it !!

How would NRA / NSC feel about using them at Bisley I wonder ?

I take it if you order some, for rimfire or full bore rifle you could use either the clay target
or the air rifle targets ????

I wouldn't want to be in the butts marking with one of those disks affixed to the target....

They come in 2 sizes 40mm and 65mm and have self adhesive backs,
they are bright orange disks and can be used for shotgun clays aswell as other firearms

Have a look at the website if you want to try them, but Im sure you'll be laughing If you do.

Prob not a good idea to use them on a gallery range with markers underneath though

Dont think markers would be needed - its either a hit or a miss !!

The parcel arrived by hazardous cargo courier on Saturday.

On initially opening the packet I was presented with boxes of 10 targets looking like this

The size of the packet in relation to the tannerite targets I used in the US made me think that these were not going to be much use. However I opened the packet and inspected the targets

The are 40mm Round mild steel disks with a high vis covering in orange. They are about 7 mil thick in total and very light. Here is a picture next to a 10p.

Well today I took a box down the range for a test. After reading the instructions and sticking one to a block of wood I tested it with a .22 LR.

The result was a big flash of light and a bang I would say equivalent to a muzzle loader going off. These targets are superb !! I tested with a .22 air rifle with the same result and a .177 air rifle.

For a bit of fun every now and again plinking these are great
