I built the lower over the winter with a Superior Arms Lower and DPMS LPK.
Ordered and recieved the upper this week to make it an actual funcioning gun.
Mags and MBUS are on their way and I bought 8 boxes of Wolf .223 from the farm store (they had a lot in stock)
and the only box of .223 that Wal-Mart had. So hopefully will get to shoot it next week.

Any suggestions for optics?  Want to stay on the cheap side for now I'm tapped out.

My budget is such at this point that I will probably just use the flip up site for a couple months and look at getting optics in the fall.

But I might be able to swing 100-150 right now.  I am mostly justplinking at the gun range for fun any way, but I'd like tio be
able to hit the steel plate they have at 200 meters.

Alos, I read in the ammo board that Wolf ammo may not be good to use in it until it's broke in, is that true?

My wife brought me back 100 rnds of re-loads from her dad's stash over the weekend, so I do have something decent to shoot at first.

I'll be the first to admit, I have nowhere near the level of knowledge exhibited by all the tacticool operators on many of the forums.  I've only fired between 15-20,000 rounds of Wolf ammo (90% of it on FA) with ZERO weapon problems so I don't feel qualified to comment on the subject.  Can somebody fill me in?  I'd hate to fire another 15-20,000 rounds of the stuff without problems before I found out that I shouldn't be using it.

That's kind of what I thought.   I'll shoot the Wolf, it surely can't hurt the rifle.

In my opinion cheaper is better as long as it works.

Just make sure you are using the "newer" polymer coated Wolf and not the old lacquer coated stuff.

By the way, good looking stick!

save your bucks, donate plasma (up to $200 per month can be made) and then buy the optics you want.  iron sights are a good prerequisite regardless.  you'll do fine at 200 meter with irons.  they shoot plenty farther than that.

as far as wolf goes...  i think the gained a spotty rep early on and rightfully so IMO, but for years they have demonstrated much better qc...  i'm not a fan of it through a precision rifle, but otherwise it'll run well to my knowledge...

Precision and Wolf should not be used in the same sentence.   I've shot at Booger twice and missed him both times!

Wolf is blasting fodder.  Nothing more, nothing less.

You shooting at me twice and missing both times has NOTHING to do with it being Wolf ammo...

funny thing about it is that his guns actually fire when the trigger is pulled...  unless you're planning on beating him with it, i'd say he was safe...

Ok, the MBUS is supposed to be here tomorrow, and I noticed in looking at it since I ordered it, that it does not have an up and down adjustment on it, only side to side.

So that means I will have to adjust the front site, how much adjustment does the front site have?  Can it be adjusted without the tool?

Anyone know where to get the adjustment tool in Southeast Iowa?  We don't have much down here....

Sorry for the newb questions, but I am tired of looking and fondling this thing without being able to shoot it!

I've adjusted the front site using a round of .223 to push the pin down

What, isn't that the way everyone does it?

I'm pretty sure that's a standard trick
