Sorry it has taken so long to get back to everyone. Mike is still dealing with medical issues which has slowed things down, and our alternate source for the cans has (and is still) contracting for the DOD (including some time in Afghanistan no less). ANYWAY The bad news: none of you are getting cans The good news: all of you are getting cold hard cash I don't know if it will happen before x-mas but it will happen. I'll have about 1/2 the money later this week. I'd prefer to wait until I have all of it so everyone gets theirs at the same time. You will get back exactly what you paid (including the transfer fees that two of you paid.) Again, sorry I couldn't make this happen faster -- trust me, it wasn't for lack of trying!

There's a 50% processing fee :) I will e-mail everyone before sending anything -- actually, I'm hoping to do most of this in person at a future match if at all possible. |

crap man now i have a job i was looking forward to getting the can.. Oh well i guess i need to shop around.. You should have my address Dobbler if not then IM me and i'll give it to you. Hope things work out for Mike M. Seriously thanks for all the help dobbler, I know your a good guy and you didn't even have to do what you did but you did anyway. I give you +1 feedback |
That is one damn tuff course! Phase one, bump fire 1000 rounds under water while remaining completely submerged . Phase two, recover 1000 pieces of brass while completely submerged. Brass must be mixed not the stuff you fired on the underwater range 3000 yards away on the other side of the little creek. Both must be completed with only one breath of air at the beginning. If you don't come up for air you get the can. |
Franky I'd like to know too. Those end caps (looking at one now) don't have a lot of material to work with... |
I've soaked mine in Kroil. That helped. I've come to the conclusion that you either need to clean after each use, and disassemble while warm, or don't clean it and forget about it. |
I have a tac16 tool as well. I am thinking more along the lines of how TROS does their encap. |
Are you going to mill them on the inside as well? Else how are you going to get the cap off your firearm when the can comes off and leaves the cap on? THAT is the bitch with mine. |
Well if you are able to tighten the cap down tight in the first place and use some antiseez on the barrel threads it shouldnt be a problem anymore. That said, I will likley loctite the endcap in place. |
It's not the NSX, I just bought a SR-25, SR-15, 3 sopmod stocks and 2 pri gas busters. |
What has worked for me so far (a lot of what was mentioned above): * Kroil before diassembly. * Clean in an ultrasonic cleaner. * Use a bottle brush for the inside of the tube. * Coat everything with Mobil 1 before assembly. * Clean after each use. I did try something different last time I cleaned. I am a bit hesitant to suggest it, because its a bit aggressive... After the first pass through the ultrasonic cleaner (using water and a little bit of detergent) I re-filled with water + a cup of white vinegar and cleaned again. I DID NOT leave the tube in this, and suggest you don't try. It did get a lot of crap off the baffles and end caps, but it also removed the bluing from the end caps A bit of touch up bluing restored the end caps, but I don't think I will use that on the end-caps again, but I may on the baffles if they get too encrusted. I have tried Al based anti-seize. It didn't seem to work terribly well, and is horribly messy. I may get some Cu based stuff and try that, although Mobil 1 seems to work pretty well. Don't know how well it would work if I left it for a long time between cleanings. |
What No SR-22?... wait that's an insurance thing...
