Im usually at Brookhaven but some friends who are casually shooters invited me out to Calverton this Sunday morning. I have never been to Calverton so Im just wondering what to bring as far as target hanging supplies and any other helpful hints.

Today (just like in the summer), the answer would have been a patio table umbrella.

One of my PA friends has one as part of his regular range kit. Clamps it to the bench and shoots in the shade all day.

Calverton can always be a surprise.  If  its busy, you may end up having to shoot in a lane with nothing but stakes, no backboard, nothing to staple to.
I always bring a couple of folded up corrugated cardboard boxes with some string and a knife to poke holes in the cardboard with so I can string my own target.  this often gets me away from the assholes that tend to point their muzzles every which way.  (if further away I don't notice, lol.)
depending on the season, bug spray, or sun lotion.
thumbtacks, stapler, simple tool kit, spotting scope or binos, targets with tape and thumbtacks, toilet paper, water, a snack and ammo of course.
I usually have a hammer with a few nails to make their rifle rack system work !
if unfamiliar with a new gun, bring the fm.

Bring Your Own Bulletproof Vest.

The one nice thing about Calverton is standing offhand rifle shooting... At brookhaven i feel claustrophobic

Believe me Will knows about these!
I personally would rather make like a bear in the woods than use one of those!

I bring targets, a staple gun, extra staples , and push pins just in case.

eta baby wipes.  There's only an out house at Calverton, so in case you want to clean up before you leave.

I went to Calverton last weekend around 11am Sunday morning and the place was packed.  There wasn't an open spot anywhere except for a few pistol spots.  Somebody had a Jeep with a giant Magpul logo on the tire cover.  Wonder if that is anyone on here.

Is it usually that crowded on a Sunday?  Is Saturday morning just as crowded.  It might have been Spring fever since it was the first warm weekend without snow.  Stopped by Brookhaven on the way home and that was full too.

Spring fever has sprung and you need to get there early on weekends to get a good spot.  As of April 1st prices went up $1 for a total of $15 for all day rifle and pistol.  Shotgun is now $18 ($2 increase).   I still think a better deal than crookhaven.

Bring some Depends for Granma..  And earplugs when she starts yellin' through her bullhorn.

Although, I haven't seen the feisty lady in sometime.   Last time I saw her, she told me to come up to her "sniper tower" and unhook her bullhorn for her.  It smelled like a cat's brothel up there.

May head out there today, but I really do fucking hate going to that place.  Damn Wild West and I know one day I'm going to get Tetanus from those old, splintery benches.  If it's nice out today, both Calverton and Brookhaven will be full of regular jag-offs..
