Alrighty, it's late notice but tomorrow is my FIRST time going to the pit. Time to pop the proverbial cherry. Any pointers, warnings, etc? Are assholes still putting boards with nails in them at the entrance? If so, what has traditionally been the place they lay them at?

I've never seen the tire killers, but park on the road and walk in first if you're worried about it. Watch all around you, %90 are good people with common sense, %5 need to be watched and reminded of range rules while others are setting targets but are ok.

The last %5 are rare. The ones with no muzzle discipline whatsoever that just wave their hi point carbines around aimlessly.

You should be fine, but watch your own ass as there's no range officer to watch it for you.

Great advice Hanibal.  I always checked the entrance first BEFORE driving in as well.  Yep, there are some yahoo's out there that know nothing about muzzle control or awareness.

THAT WAS FUN! Wow, great time. The place was actually relatively clean, there weren't many other people (at least that were not with our group), and I got to play with a lot of nice toys. If it weren't so far, I'd definitely go more often.
