Has anyone here fished Gibbons Creek right outside of College Station?  I was wondering if the fishing was good, and if you have caught anything there what was your average sized bass?

I havent fished it, but my cousin has, and he said its like a secret.  His biggest LMB was just over 9 lbs. and was caught there.

Gibbons is a great bass lake. Lake record is over 16 lbs. They also have set the slot on the lake to 14-24.

Only fished there one afternoon, caught nothing but dinks.

But some of the local bass folks say it's pretty good.

I'd go again.

If you have the time, I'd highly recommend Falcon down in South Texas.  I was there a couple of weekends ago and 3 people caught over 100 keepers with one 9lb2oz as big fish.  We let the big ones go and kept 15 3-4 lbers.  Fishing is unbelievable down there.  I hear Choke Canyon and Amistad are also particularly good this year.

PS... if you're interested in any of those South Texas or Northern Mexico (Cuchillo, Las Blancas, etc),  IM me... I know a bunch of guides who go down there all the time who can put you on the fish.

Ive never fished down in South Texas, been hunting alot there though.  Ill definetly check that area out, Ive also heard that the fishing in the Northern Mexico area is good too.  Those fish stats for Gibbons are pretty promising.  Anyone fished the Red Bluff Res. out in Loving County?

White Rock's fishing has been pretty good lately.

I've been catching a few 2,3 and 4 pound LMBs and Spotted Bass in the morning, till about 10:00AM, and in the evening till about 7:00PM
