Are 37mm flare launchers legal in NYS? Really thinking about something like this . I remember reading that because of the size it can't fire anything buy the flares/smokers, so I wouldn't think it would be a problem. Basically just want it because I think it would look cool as all get out, but with NYS the way it is, wouldn't want to cause a stir if I went to the range with it.

a 37mm flare launcher are legal, as long as you do not shoot any thing else.

they make a tube to put in it to shoot shot gun shell which is not legal in nys.

i own one, i went to the range with it 3 times, had noproblem with any body just didn't like shooting with it.
(i didn't shoot the flare launcher at the range)

Thanks for the info guys. I tried a search, but must be doing something wrong, as I have not had a successful search done since I signed up.

How much weight did it add to the gun? I'm not to worried about that, as I mostly just hunt paper, so not to worried about the 'tacticallity' (is that a word) of the weapon. Worst comes to worst, is I can just take it off.

Exactly the same reason I want mine for my M4.
