I just looked at this thread and see no Citrus County ranges so I will list the two I frequent. Hernando Sportsmans Club, while not in Citrus County it's right near the county line. I'm in Citrus and can hear them shooting from the range. http://www.hernandosportsmansclub.com/ And one that is in Citrus thats real nice. But a heads, up you can buy a membership for hundreds $$$. But you can also buy a $20.00 a year range card, then pay $20 for the day or a little cheaper for an hour. They have a 600 yard rifle range but it's an extra $20 to shoot at it and you need to qualify before using it. No standing while shooting rifles is a bummer if your shooting AR type rifles, but is a nice place if your shooting long range rifles. When I want to stand to shoot, I go to Hernando even thought the place can get hectic when it's packed with shooters. Outpost is more laid back and not hectic at all. https://outpostrange.com/ |

| Manatee County Gun and Archery club is expanding. They now have night shoots (You can rent night vision equipment) The trap range has classes and leagues and coming soon long range .22 matches. Prices have dropped also. |

| For anyone in Volusia or nearby there's Cow Creek Hunt Club in Edgewater. $365/yr private range, tiny compared to Volusia gun and hunt club but it's not really staffed and there's horse shoe shaped bermed areas where you can do whatever kind of training you want. There's also a rifle lane that's 200 yds, pistol lanes, another 50 yd rifle lane and a skeet area. I love it because it's like 5 min from my house in Edgewater. |

This reminds me of the private range club in CT where I used to be a member - I miss that club so much. Do they allow shooting with night vision? I see a picture of someone using their NODs there, but wanted to confirm please as the hours say 9am-6pm. It's a 1.5 hour drive for me. |

I was impressed with the store over all. They have a nice facility. Unique for the area, then again I don't get out much.

No complaints there. But, the (vast majority of) people who visit that range do not adhere to gun safety. I have seen shooters break 180 and sweep others on the firing line, handle guns while a cold range has been declared, walk behind shooters with loaded guns to visit their friend down the line, etc. That is why I made the comment and urge anyone planning to visit be very wary. I always went at the crack of dawn when no one was there. |
