I'm planning this year's hunting trip. I was looking at the wildlife management areas, any suggestions for south florida?

I've gone to Dupuis the last couple of years. Easy access for walking there. I'm putting in for dinner island ranch. Is there any place else that I should look at that is easy to access on foot. I don't know where to go to get information on this stuff.

Try the FWC Website for WMA info.

I use the FWC website to put in my applications and find the maps but what I'm looking for are websites with forums that discuss which WMA's are good for hunting. I want to know that JW Corbett is flooded pretty much the year round and is not a good place to hunt without a swamp buggy or if some WMA is so overrun by nearby development that it isn't worth even trying. Know what I mean?

AVON PARK bombing range just east of Sebring...  Very good hunting area...

A.P. location how-ever I think you need to be on the lottery list there...

Cecil Webb Wild Life Management Area on the west coast by Punta Gorda area...

South Florida WMA area's are tuff...

Big Cypress, JW Corbett, Rottenburger, and Holey Land have been swamped with H.W.L

Big Cypress Preserve WMA will be your best bet along the Turner River Road Area...

Ever though about a private hunting camp or guided hunts with friends to split with...

Just an idea to throw out,

Thanks for the info, I'll keep Big cypress in mind of my bids don't turn out. I'll try to get a permit there during phase 2. I can recommend Dupuis to you if you are looking for a good spot. It's the only place I have hunted down here. I've seen deer tracks and there are hogs in there.
