I posted this in the general forum and didn't get much of an answer.

I am going to be in the Winter Park/ Fraiser/ Granby area soon and I would like to fly fish. I have been up there a lot of times but this is my first time fly fishing up there. Does anyone know of a good place to fly fish?

Thanks!

Found this at http://www.frasercolorado.com/Resources/activities.html :

FISHING - Nelson Fly & Tackle is the definitive authority on the best lake, river, pond, or stream to pitch your bait as you whisper, "Here, fishy, fishy!", and wait and hope. For the final word on fishing and expert advice on fly fishing call them at 970-726-8558. Fishing licenses and equipment can be purchased at Safeway and Alco in Fraser.

Hope this helps.

Fly fishing is way fun.  It can also be very expensive, dont get the idea that you HAVE TO go buy a 600 dollar rod, a bauer reel, and simms waders.  People go overboard on gear nowadays, I fish with one rod, two lines, and a few flies.  I normally catch 16-20' fish.

Fly fishing can be very irritating until you get the hang of casting, and untangling.  I dont know where you are at, but if you are a noob go get some casting help at first.  It is a blast after you get used to it if you like to pull good fish out of places that a spin cast wouldnt and like the outdoors.

Head West out of Granby about 15-20 miles on 40,  Just on the west side of Hot Sulpher Spring's 40 crosses over ther Colorado river at that point, some decent fishing there. Take your rifle with you, down the road from there is a Rifle Range, that goes out to 200 yrds, So, if the fish aren't biting,,,,,
