Anyone else can also let me know what they are using to. Thanks for the info.

I've had excellent results with the hornady 55g v-max

Are you trying to preserve pelts?

Diggs91 is correct - you can only use 5 round mags. However, you can actually use commercial FMJ, just not military surp FMJ, but it's best to use a bullet that is designed for killing.

As mentioned above, I am a big fan of the 55gr VMAX. I get the loads from HSM (orange box) or Blue Hills (blue box) and have always been happy with them. They sometimes blow a big exit, which isn't a big deal with coyotes since I don't keep pelts. But with smaller predators, such as foxes and bobcats, it can make a big exit and that can drive down the price of pelts. I have had better luck with little to no exit using 69gr Sierra Matchkings, and I have heard that some using the new Varmint Grenade have been happy, as well.

But I still use the 55gr VMAX rounds, because they are inexpensive, widely available, and accurate.
