Who wants to volunteer? If they refuse to meet with a large number of SDA license holders about this lifetime provision, then we know for sure their position against the lifetime provision is strictly for a financial concern.
Ten or so visitors would make an impression. If they refuse to meet with us, we can call the news media to take pictures of us with protest signs in front of their offices on 63rd and Broadway.

ETA - We'll pay a visit to those in the legislature that day as well if we can. It's hard for them to look you in the eye and deny their support sometimes.

Two ways to influence a legislator - numbers and persistence or money.

ETA - See my last post in this thread.

No Chuck. I'd think it would be good idea to do it prior to the rally on the capitol steps. I'm waiting for the NRA lobbyist to call me. She has access to a lot more info than I do. If she can arm us with facts and figures we can present to the OSBI and they can't counter them, then there is no good reason why they should oppose it.
We need their support.
If the OSBI is confronted by ordinary citizens and SDA holders, then they might realize they are about to crap in their own mess kit, so to speak.
I'd like to do it this week. Maybe Friday, time enough to get some people together, notify the news media, prepare our points of persuasion with the OSBI, and get it all together and do it ASAP.

I'm out on this one then. It looks as if it might just be the two of us on the 3rd. Unless some others post up. FISTer could come and bring the girls with him. I don't know about the whole responsible parent part though

Here is something to contemplate.
A state representative is holding a bill that will benefit many honest Oklahoma citizens on sheer speculation by state employee representing a state agency.
The OSBI has no basis on fact or statistics to support their position. Instead of trying to make a law like that work for the benefit of Oklahoma, they want it denied. They could make suggestions that would make the bill work to prevent what they speculate could happen.
Another state charge $125 for a Lifetime CCW permit while we pay $100 for five years.
The OSBI cannot deny it is a financial issue more than a public safety concern.
We need bodies to witness what the OSBI says in response to a group of concerned citizens.
One man or even two can't get it done.
We need a group.

Unfortunately, I need a bit more advance notice to get everything set to get the time off. I will try, but no promises.

I cannot understand how all the Arfcommers up in the OKC area cannot commit to support these things.

There are a few that will try.
But like I've found out before, many of those who promise to charge into the breach seem to get lost when the charge starts.
Worst comes to worst, I'll look like a whack job if I'm by myself.

Per advice from an experienced individual, any visit to the OSBI would be ill advised.

Care to share the insight provided or shall it be left to our imaginations the fates of ones so bold?

Not enough info, give it up!  What possible reason could the OSBI have for not listening to reasonable citizens? I'd better not hear that they are "threatening" us. I'm well aware of how that crap goes

from my past experience with The OSBI it best not to call them and voice your Opinion. I called about OSBI going into local gun stores and looking at the 4473 of anybody the bought a Glock when those two girl where killed . And let just said I had to call my state Rep. The lady added me to list of folks that may have comminted the crime. In my opinion OBSI crossed a line by looking for folks the bought or owned a Glock. And sending letters to gun owners to send in there firearms for testing.

I don't care what OSBI thinks of the Lifetime CWL only how my state rep votes.

I don't see why my ok cwl cost $85 buck every five years.

It's not because of some unspoken sinister reason.
It's simple. They aren't going to listen and don't care what we think.
We may pay their salary but they don't really care what our opinions are.
It's not going to make any difference what we say to them because they aren't going to reveal their true agenda.
There is a thing called abuse of authority.
"Because I am who I am, what I say is beyond dispute. Who the hell are you to question what I say?"
That's been my problem for years. I've been fed too much BS and can't take any more.
If we prove to them that their speculations and reasoning are unsound, they'll come up with some more BS.
When I was at the OMD, I was made the Risk Management / Loss Prevention officer. Every agency in the state sent a representative to a meeting held by the Department of Central Services to listen how and why the state paid so much insurance for state owned structures, etc. They spent hours talking about equations used to develop actuarial tables, etc.
I don't think out of several hundred state employees more than just two or three understood what was being presented.
It was a huge snow job to hide why the state spent so much money to private insurance companies.
It's pretty much what state agencies do when they visit with legislators seeking funding. Throw out a lot of BS to get what they want. And most of the legislators take it as gospel.
And an ordinary citizen won't be listened too because they are not an "authority".
It will have to be a large, well organized militant group that has to approach them with a lot of persistence and guts to hang in there and demand answers.
And that ain't gonna happen.
