Roque4 called last night. Didn't place first and didn't place last, just a soft placement in upper half. He remarked, " We were shooting against all kinds of guys. There were guys your age dad that are and or were Delta Forces.  The kind of guys that don't get their picture taken. I don't feel we got out gunned, but were definitely out equipped. " He and his partner brought Army issue rifles and optics while others brought equipment that resembled the kind of rifles, optics, and spotting scope the two had left home. All in all we did pretty well, he said. We definitely got a lot of stuff to take back with us to use for training within our squad.

Sergeant Fil heads Sniper Squad at battalion level with Jonathan (Roque4) being his number two and training officer. "We made a lot of contacts both Army and Commercial."... We came away with a lot...... he said. I would say they did too. Both got enough attention from a full bird Colonel and Command Sergeant Major to receive an invite to Benning after next deployment for positions as instructors.

There are 10 events done within 72 hours. Fil and Jonathan placed 1st in 3 of 10 events. 50 cal Barrett shoot, Night Unknown Target, and Loop Hole Shoot. The Loop hole Shoot involves math that takes security clearance before given the formula and training to use. I would say this kid is set for life if he can stay out of harm's way.

Well that part in red certainly piqued my interest.  Classified math huh?

But good on him for doing well.  Tell him to stay safe and thank him for his service.

I saw this on a sniper show. They briefly talked about it, showed someone taking a shot and said the same thing about the formula for the calculation being classified.

One bullet goes into one bad guy one time with nothing left over....Classified math...Yes....Complex math...No...

Complex.... I wouldn't know. All top secret shit, except I can say what anyone who's seen loop hole done on Military Channel. Snipers are in a room with an outlooking window. A hole cut just barely larger in diamater than bullet used. The math determines where exactly hole is cut in relation to POA and POI.

Here's a picture I was able to pull off web of Jonathan at Benning Competition.

They didn't bathe once during 72hr stretch of competition and took 5 MRE breaks the entire time. Pure adreneline is what they were running on. Sleep was scarce.
Am able to pull some local news footage. Wondering how to pull and save ??

Ahh, now I gotcha.  Me not being an actual .gov sniper might just make the hole a little bigger.

Man, it's gonna take a lot of that special gum to un-stick them after all those MREs.

Looks like a POF.

How does he like it?

Not sure, but I don't believe pictured rifle is a POF. I think pictured rifle Jonathan is behind to be issue Kinight's Armament SASS 110.

The Rifle pictured is a POF it is not a KAC...
You can tell the receiver is Milled not forged (the KAC M110 is forged)
The Rail on the POF is their "Predator" rail...
Note the trigger guard, and a forward assist

THIS is an M110 SASS
Note no FA, and such...

Probably just playing with a vendors toy...
as for ungumming after the MRE usually it is the other way around they can't wait to leave!

5 MREs in 72 hours is a LOT... of course back when I had to do it, we field stripped all the garbage out and just took entrees, fruit, some side items depending on what we got, and binned the rest.

That would explain the "commercial" contacts Jonathan made. Don't know much about rifles, just knew POF isn't issue for him. As to eating a whole MRE. He says the entree's taste like shit and he nibbles on the other stuff. Have tried some entree's, didn't seem bad to me. He looses a lot of weight when in the field. He's back home at Fort Hood today. Need to make another trip down soon so the both of them can tell their stories.
