...and your first post I see!

There are lots of factors here, so I will go in order of most importance

Need/use
Cost
Weight
Rail type
Shape/dia

Answer those and we can get some better answers out there for ya

As far as preference, I have owned several, but my personal fav is the one I use on my work rifle.
Geissele MKI

ETA- you said FF handguards, not rail...
Going to assume you mean rail.  Replacing the handguards w new handguards (and you never replace the barrel nut) will only result in a dif style of handguard, no FF.  IF FF is what you want, you need a RAIL, which, by def, has 1-4 rails or other setup that have a new barrel nut that will attach to your rifle dirrectly.

Not to be rude, but this being your first post n all, and its a tech question...
You'd be better served in a tech forum here...
Any of these on the AR15 tab, far left...
Just find an appropiate forum, have at it.  I would recommend the Basics first.

Good luck!!!

Welcome to the forum. I have an old yhm qaudrail. Been thinking of changeingit to one of the new slim lines like the pic above. Your gonna need the right tools so figure that into the price.

I've added alot of stuff to this gun over the years. Yhm ff rail, end cap, magpul afg, magpul rail covers, & quick disconnect sling swivel

I like the ones I make. Depends if you want something simple and lightweight or if you want something you can bolt a bunch of crap on to.

I use the JP handguards on a lot of my rifles. They free float, are very light, and I don't put a bunch of mall-ninja shit on my rifles. Most I ever have is a flashlight and a fore-grip.

A little heavier than others.
But love the ergonomics
