I'm thinking of a free float handguard and have been offered a KAC RAS  - I think it mught be a chinese copy though.

Has anybody any experience of clone handguards. It seems fairly well made but I'm not sure if a chinese copy is good enough, especialy as i wopuld nneed to use the barrel nut.

Any thoughts?

cheers

Airsoft parts on real guns are not really a good idea…

Personally I agree with Vito and would stick with those designed for firearms rather than airsoft, especially if you're changing the barrel nut. IM Clayo as he's got some I believe.

Thanks - Clayo's already been in touch and the Yankee Hill guards look pretty good, although  there's a company called Veriforce Tactical that adverise on arfcom that look OK - anyone got any experince?

cheers

Yankee Hill's are a little heavy and maybe a bit too fat.
They're good for the money though.
I used to have YHM rails but replaed them with Daniel Defense ones which are much slimmer and lighter.
They're also much more expensive .

Try the main EE or ebay as they come up on there regularly.

I agree with Mark (hmm too much of this going on lately...).

I have 2 YHM FF rails, carbine and rifle. They do the job, but could be slimmer.

I'll have to disagree with the " Little heavy " Bit, The One i sold to Rixy was as light as a feather, The one i have on my .22 is a little on the heavy side (Not to much ) But the lightweight one is a nice weight.

So you disagree with everything, except for the bit you agree with

So you agree that the std one is a bit heavy, but the lightweight one is OK.

Okayyyyyyyy

In other words you agree with me

The Yankee Hill lightweight rail is no problem at all. I've not seen the standard so I can't comment on that.

I was out foxing last night and lugged the gun around for about 4 hours and it wasn't  a problem.

I had a look at a Daniel Defence rail but I'd have needed to take out another mortgage to afford it

The most important issue is not the weight per se…

The question should be… is the weight a price worth paying to piss of the RAnge Nazis?

Yes, but it's better to piss them off with a lighter one.

Besides, Daniel Defense was chosen by the Naval Warfare Centre as the rail for the SPR rifle's (for the SEAL's )

Yankee Hill =
