I wanted my wife's obituary printed in the Bee, our home town and where we lived most of our lives. The Bastards wanted 660 bucks to print a few lines.

if you had told them se was shot with an AW, they would have paid you to print it.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss.  I will send a prayer out for you.

screw the bee, there has to be a more local paper that will do it for less.  put it in craigslist too.

That's crazy.

That's expensive, I recently placed a small paragraph in the LA Times for my dad = $250.

I am sorry for your loss.  I lost my dear Lizzie August, 2010.

I had to pay the SJ Mercury News around $175.  Standard text, no photo.

I'm surprised you had to pay so much, unless perhaps it was in large print/was accompanied by a portrait.

Maybe a smaller town newspaper is not doing well enough that it has to ream the families of dead folks.

Yes, they dinged my GF family $250 for her grandmother's obit.

They think they have a captive audience.

No picture with the obit, it was about 40 words.

Thanks for the condolences.
