Hi,
I am a combat vet of the Vietnam "experience"(Mekong Delta, 68-69, 9th Inf Div) and although I have a Bushmaster M4(from Wes Vogel)and a few other pieces, I just can't get away from that feeling of missing something in my life....Full Auto.
So...I have done some research and this and that but what I really wonder is this.
How much does it REALLY cost to get and own a full auto AR15 type weapon here in
my native state ?(Thank God for it !)
I can build it so I don't need to buy it assembled for $10,000 from someone who is lucky enough to have one.

Does the BATF hassle you all the time ? An instructor in Salem told me they do.
Do you have to renew a class 3 license every year ?

Thanks for any advice.

Thanks Ziess for the "Thank You" for service.
And thanks to both of you, Ziess and Pat for the info.
Gives me a few things to think about and I really appreciate hearing
this stuff from people who are doing FA(not Field Artillery..).

Pat, thanks for the invite too.
Can't make that trip but will keep my eyes open for others.
Busy time for me right now.

Now, if I can just wrangle a BUNCH of money....

I knew about the fine/jailtime and I'm not interested in that for sure !
A guy where I work and I were talking about using the file  on the rifle back
in the old days but both of us said we don't want the consequences of getting caught.
He was a sniper in Nam, me an FO.

Anyway, Really appreciate the info.
I'll keep reading/looking/thinking...
One of these days...I'll figure this out for sure.

Take Care and have a great time in Eastern Oregon !

Don't forget, there is a fee from the NFA dealer for transferring the MG to you as well.  Also, you'll need fingerprints taken (2 sets) and most places charge to do that.

It all adds up!

first step is to look for a MG. the more you look the more you will learn.

I found mine on gunbroker, but also check subguns.com and sturmgewehr.com to start.  there are many other places and dealers to look at. but these will get quick results, you can see prices, what the current market is like and some of the nuttiness of what you are about to get into.

You only need one kidney, so you might as well sell the other!

On the serious side as Zeiss has mentioned, I would also like to say thank you for your service as well.

Thanks Tracker.

Looks like you might have spent some time on "the tracks".
If so, thanks for what you have done for our country too !

And on the less serious side...
Maybe I can find a good price for one of my kidneys soon....
Still have two eyes, only need one, two hands, ummm might wait
on that, two legs, ditto...
Damn, decisions !
I was just telling my wife that if I'd a had my head out of where the sun don't shine
back in '69,'70,'71,'72, on and on...I should'a been stockpilin' FA's for the
future. Shoulda coulda...

Take Care,
Gary

Thanks for your service.

Next time, your questions might be better answered in one of the tech forums also.

Thanks for your service Gary.

I sold my two MGs a while back and just save some money to take to the Albany ARPC Full-Auto shoots.
