dead as a wedge.   bored , rode to wal mart last night....normal crowd about 400... last night's crowd about 45.    wal mart put up all of the guns, ammo, paint ball equipment until after the G8.   apparently the locals are boarded up at home.    small crowd, maybe less than 100 are protesting the war at the brunswick courthouse.    very small group of nuts protesting at the coca cola plant.   they say coke has bad hiring practices and their signs say "killer cola".    crown vics here out the ying yang.

We went to Gulf Shores (south Alabama) for the weekend just in case things in St. Simons got crazy.

Some of the "protestors" were on the news last night whining that all the security took away their right to free speech.  What a crock.  If they protest peacefully, they won't have a problem, but if they do like they did in Seattle, Miami, and Toronto, they might get their heads cracked by a Jawja boy.

The AJC did an article about some of the protestors in the Sunday paper.  What a bunch of losers.

Example:

Carol Bass spent much of her teenage years in Georgia's foster care system, bouncing from family to family. At 19, she was living in her car in a Sears parking lot in Warner Robins. Then one day a repo man tapped on her window. When he drove off in her home, Bass stood crying with her belongings strewn at her feet.

On her 23rd birthday, Bass got an eviction notice and a positive pregnancy test. A friend lent her $300 and she had to choose whether to spend it on an apartment

Same here! We just rolled back in town today from Destin and what a week the family had!  Awesome weather and the gulf was crystal clear. Took the Polaris in the ocean for the first time and had a outstanding time. Saw a couple of Rays, some dolphins and a 4ft Black Tip shark while riding.

Gotta make plans for next year...............

Just got back from Savannah, was going to take a Cessna, took a Honda instead. The FAA guy I talked to said the jet jockeys would be in no mood for VFR tourists, and I was in no mood for some flyboy bouncing flares off my windscreen.

All in all, it appears G8 was a big non event for the disruptors and jihadists, thank GOD.

Saw a whole bunch of Crown Vic's and black suburbans.

Went through the 8th A.F. museum while there, it literally brought tears to my eyes, as well as every other vet that was in the room with me during the "mission" experience.  I highly recommend that museum for all those who haven't seen it.

We got back from St. George Island last week-nice place and not as crowded as Destin-house was $3500 wk. (in laws picked up tab) took the jetski . Went fishing and caught a bunch in Apalachacola Bay, where the Chattahoochee runs into the sea.  Gulf Shores is really nice and is near the scrotal sack of Alabama (far lower left) lots of folks from LA, MS,  AL etc.
