Good stuff, I had fun at the convention, (my first), and was overjoyed that Ken Cuccinelli absolutely dominated in his win. What a great day for Virginia gunowners! I was amazed at the number of people that wanted to wear a VCDL "Guns Save Lives" sticker. We gave out thousands of them. |

Gave mine to him and stopped by the table to pick up another one and some spares. Had no trouble giving the spares out. I'd guess half to three-quarters of the delegates had a GSL sticker. Great job VCDL! One other big positive, I think every candidate mentioned supporting second amendment rights in their speeches. |

Out of hundreds, probably thousands of stickers I passed out, only 1 person wearing a "Foster for AG" sticker/button/shirt accepted my GSL sticker. I don't recall Foster mentioning the 2A. |

This is great news! I wish I had gone, Montgomery co. had a slot for me and one then and anther happened and I forgot.
Looking forward to campaigning this fall. Nice when you actually like the candidates which are being fielded. On that note, Last night I saw the first attack ad on McDonnell. It went something like this: "Bob McDonnell a jobs governor? He tried making legal challenges to giving workers more time on unemployment, as a delegate he voted against health care funding for unemployed workers. Bob McDonnell a jobs governor? I don't think so." Hell that makes me want to vote for him even more. |
Is there any word on a GOP candidate for Governor? The governor's race is this year is it not? I was just hoping for Kaine to get ousted and replaced with someone progun, that might not laugh at a tax cut. I could use a little relief from the commonwealth's withholdings.

Yes elections are this Fall! From link above - Virginia Republicans completed their 2009 ticket in Richmond this afternoon, teaming gubernatorial nominee Bob McDonnell with Bill Bolling for lieutenant governor and Ken Cuccinelli for attorney general.
Had a great trip with Bulldog1967 and VAFish! Amazing to see a sea of orange stickers and literally thousands of GSL stickers were handed out. There is a solid GOP ticket and Ken Cuccinelli is a strong 2A supporter. If you don't like the current administration, now is the time to start real change. Quoted:

I could use a little relief from the commonwealth's withholdings. ![]() Bob McDonnell is the GOP candidate for Governor. He's currently Virginia's Attorney General. McDonnell is good on the second, maybe not great but a whole lot better than Kaine. There are three democrats running for Governor , Terry McAuliffe, Brian Moran and Creigh Deeds. Their primary is June 9th and I believe McAuliffe is the current front runner. Deeds is the only one of the three who's remotely pro gun. Deeds got the NRA endorsement over McDonnell when the two of them ran for AG four years ago; I believe VCDL was initially neutral, then backed McDonnell in that race. Since then, Deeds has slipped on gun rights and recently supported closing the so called gun show loophole. Virginia runs open primaries; any registered voter can vote on June 9th in the democratic primary. For any pro gun voters in the dem primary, Deeds is an easy choice. IMHO McDonnell is far better on gun rights than any of the three democrats. McDonnell would also be much more likely to cut taxes, or at least fight tax hikes, than any of the democrat candidates. |

I may have to break down and vote in the Democratic primary. I did that once before, to vote for Jim Webb. Made me feel dirty, but what the hell. Thought about doing it again, to vote for Hillary, but could not force myself to do it... |
