Anybody have one? I have seen the reviews the armory section, but was just wondering what the locals thought. How do they shoot? Reliable? Any other noteworthy stuff? thanks |
|
I bought one of the first ones to come into the shop. Mine has 500ish rounds through it and runs like a champ. No issues with broke stocks or bolts or anything. I never thought I was buying an HK .22 so I got exactly what I expected out of it. They sure do sell well though. |
whatever happend to the bags of screws? |

If you're looking for something as solid and close to real a real MP5/HK94, keep looking. They were built off of an airsoft design, and feel as such to me. Most upgrades/addons/ninjacooltactical stuff for them is pretty much limited to airsoft accessories because of the above. That considered, I have shot ikickhippie's a few times, and it is fun for a .22 - which is the whole idea in the first place. They are hot sellers because of the price. I think it's a decent bang-for-your-buck if you want a .22 backyard fun gun or like popping plates alot. I'm lucky enough to own the real thing, and there is no comparison, so I am heavily biased. |
I also own the "real thing" but why compare the two? The GSG guns were not intended to compete with the real thing. TD |

I've got 2o of those stupid SOB's on order.... none of my suppliers have any... I'm getting sick of waiting... I've got 9 sold pre-order not counting all of the ones the guys in the shop want.... sheesh. I've even called ARMCHAR and they said just to wait... I't been close to 2 months since we made out order of 3 original rifles. now we have upped the order to 14 rifles and 6 pistols... and we haven't gotten ANY in yet.... on another note... we did get all of our 5.7 ar uppers in... that will tide me over for a little while... |
Hell, I could bump my order up to 100 units but that won't get them in my hand any sooner. I don't have x GSG's on order. I just tell them to ship what ever they can and they typically come in 3 to 5 at the time. If they want to ship 10 or more I'll gladly take them. Butler is huge place and I'm sure they keep several salesman very happy therefore they will get more GSG's than the typical mom & pop gunshop. These are allocated guns and they only go to each salesman's best customer. Good Luck TD |
I'm not insulting the mom and pop operations by any means. I was just stating the obvious. The sales people are going to steer the hot items to their largest clients which is perfectly understandable as far as I'm concerned. We are a mom & pop type operation but mom doesn't help out very much.. My GSG supply has been hit or miss and mostly miss, but I have been able to keep a decent supply of Ruger LCP's. Most don't consider me a nice guy but I'll take a free can TD |
Their not that big. They have just been around about 40+ yrs. They share the same building with a parts store. |
I have never been there but I've spoke to several people that have. They all said the place had many times more guns that Bass Pro ETC. They have also said that Butler's has more guns than anybody S. of Macon. For all I know they could all be grossly exaggerating Butler's inventors since I've never been there. Is there a store S. of Macon that has more guns than Butler? If there is I'm not aware of it. Gun stores seem to come and go so 40+ years in the gun bizz is a long time as far as I'm concerned. I only hope my gun bizz is around in 40+ years!!! TD |
what they have on display is more then bass pro has all together in atl. i went to go look at safes, and they took me to their warehouse that is when i saw all the ammo on pallets they had stored in their. they buy in major bulk so they can keep prices lower. i have heard they will sale whole sale to other local dealers. |
SBR it? It has a 10 inch barrel unless I am reading wrong. Are you gonna replace the barrel? I am new to these guns. Oh and will the pistol accept a suppressor? ByteTheBullet (-: |
the pistol will accept a supressor, unthread the flash hider out of the front sight base, get and adapter from gemtech and you are good to go ....... he is going to SBR so he can put a stock on it and basically have an instant SBR without having to buy the rifle version and then have the barrel chopped and pay the stamp on top of doing the other work needed. Buying the pistol and SBRing is the quickest easiet way to go with you want to put a stock on and have the chopped barrel for a supressor. |
Because alot of people are buying them because they mimic the outside looks of an HK, and they cannot afford an HK94 or the like. Like I said, I am heavily biased. The OP asked for noteworthy info, and I posted my experiences. Alot of people have asked about the weight, parts interchangeability with HK94's/MP5's, and the similarities between the two. That's why I compared them. |
Gotcha, thanks. ByteTheBullet (-: |
I'm now stapling your cards to the price tags of all the "sbr's" in my EBR Corner. You might want to check with your printer though. The top of the cards all say "For a good time call....." |
