This story was flying on fb last night. This was a block over from my son's g/f's house. My wife is fb friends with the g/f mother, who heard the explosion and saw the fire. She said she heard 3 explosions.
My son knows the 17 yo, the 20 yo is his brother. http://www.myfoxdetroit.com/dpp/news/local/explosion-in-taylor-home-garage-kills-1%2C-injures-2-20120229 |

Quoted:
3 minutes? I live about the same distance from there as the fire house on Ecorse. Not a chance, and I don't have to gear up. Quoted from the paper by the Fire chief. "At one time, that would've been three minutes because there was a station a mile and a half from that location, and that extra five minutes meant that could double ten times," he remarked. Gearing up has nothing to do with anything. It was a three minute versus 8 minute drive time. You can't drive a mile and a half with lights and siren in 3 minutes when something is on fire? Let me answer for you, yes you can. |
