Do I replace it or the whole bcg? Looks like a poorly aligned gas tube. The first thing I'd do is inspect your upper for debris and check your gas tube for alignment and wear. If it is all chewed up, then there's your problem. You can also test this way: * Remove the bolt from the carrier and remove your charging handle from your upper. * Make sure the carrier is lubed along it's normal lube points. * Drop the carrier into your upper and let it slide to the front towards your barrel extension. It should slide to the front without any gas key/gas tube interference at all. If the gas tube impedes your carrier in any way, you have a problem. If you're having issues, I'd probably replace/align the gas tube and replace your carrier key. Make sure you torque the carrier key properly (35-40in/lbs) and stake it. I don't think you have to replace the entire BCG. |
