WOOO YEAH RAIDER NATION WOOO

Why is this being reported in the Reno Gazette Journal when it's an Arizona Republic story? To appeal to the Sun Valley readership maybe?

My "ThePirate" username originated on some of the Raider chats I used to frequent.  The story you linked was all over the Raider news sites yesterday - not a lot of people taking pride in this particular person, myself included.

After seeing the article, I did a little reading on this guy.  Without a doubt in my mind he did things that earned him his death sentence, and then some.  One thing that I do give him credit for was fighting the appeals process to hasten his own execution.  He essentially insisted that for the "sense of closure" it might give to his victims that he should take the needle.

While he was at trial, Comer told the judge and jury "An eye for an eye,", he then proceeded to say, "I mean, I ended a whole bunch of innocent people's lives and changed their lives forever. Even though they're still alive, their lives are destroyed. I owe that to them. I owe it to myself, man. I was totally wrong,"

For those who don't know it, Comer went camping with his girlfriend, invited the guy in the campsite next to him over, then shot him in the head and stole his stuff.  He then invited a man and woman in another camp site over, tied the guy to a car bumper and raped his girlfriend right in front of him.  He then kidnapped the girlfriend, who later got away.  Guy was left tied to the car.  Both survived.  He also apparently did some pretty bad stuff earlier in his life.  By most accounts, he was a changed man by the time he was executed.  Too bad for everyone he didn't come to wisdom earlier.

But one redeeming quality he absolutely had was his love of his football team!  Go RAIDERS!

Damn, that's funny!

I posted my Raiders joke BEFORE I read the article.

Guess there must be more than a hint of truth to it!
