Soon to be gone is the Oklahoma Hometown Forum. |

Soon to be gone is the Oklahoma Hometown Forum. I will say again. It died by its own hand. The collection of pricks that used to reside here ran everyone off and now its a ghost town. Then they left because there was no one left start silly shit with. THIS is a perfect example of what happens when assholes are allowed to rule the roost. Not my Monkeys, NOT my circus anymore. |

Not me my friend. I only stop in occasionally. I have left the old OKHTF to the young bloods. |

Somebody who is an occasional visitor drops by and says the same thing once or twice a year, for as long as I've been on this forum. As a famous man once said...the reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated, the same thing is said about this forum. This is the most active thread in the last few days. That says a lot. The bullshit and joking isn't happening, there aren't any shoots or get togethers any more. It does look Ike its dying.... |

| I'm trying to spearhead a range trip next Saturday (the 20th) to celebrate my birthday. Will be a bit of a rag tag group. Me, the wife, a couple of new shooters, ex marine, a big BS'r who should be entertaining, etc. Happy hollow in the afternoon. Hopefully the weather will be nice and everyone will still wanna go. |

For as much as I talk about guns and care about guns, I haven't been to the range much in the past few years.
Part of it is the constant political climate that makes me want to not waste ammo. Part of it is the increased cost to shoot (I reload when I can, but it's a tedious thing to do often). And part of it is the lack of challenge. Wish we had at least 1 public range with gongs out to 1000 yards. I've just about outgrown the 200 yard limit at Tri City. I don't know too many people who do agricultural work so don't have any private land access to do this. I guess being a city dweller has put me out of touch with the rural folk. Oh well. |

Start shooting standing/kneeling. When you can drill an IPSC target start doing it faster, only counting A zone hits, etc. ETA: Long range rimfire. Shooting 22 LR at 200 requires good wind reading skills. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |
| I admit, I mostly just shoot in my backyard.. made my own 100yd range so no need to pay to go anywhere else. I've only been to Lexington a couple times, but with it being about a 1.5 hour drive it's not really worth it. H&H is always packed and Wilshire is overpriced. |

Politics, ammo costs, and being preoccupied have basically killed any range time for me. And no. John Wayne's not dead, I saw him on TV just the other day! Whackin 'n stackin' savages. ![]() If John Wayne was alive and went after the Muslims like he did the Indians, there wouldn't have been a 9/11. Whackin' n stackin' goat humpers would be a great thing! |
| I've always been a lurker, and never posted on Arfcom until about a year ago. I seriously had a dormant account with zero posts for 9 years. I finally gave up on the other place and made my way here. I don't really shoot much anymore, lost my membership to Tricities because I didn't have much time in 13 due to the tornado. I hate the drive to banner, so that leaves me indoor at Sgt Everitt's or Big Boys. I plan on checking out that new range by Rush Springs when it opens. |
|
I'd love to find someone with some land that would like to shoot. I recently moved to OK from NC and only have the ability to shoot at indoor places like 2A in Tulsa.
I shoot about 500rds per week but it can get tedious indoors. If anyone wants company I'm dying to shoot outdoors. |

Well I'm here in OK for the weekend. We just got a house in Broken Arrow. I'll be moving down in a month or two. I'll do my best to stir shit up in here and keep the forum alive. I'll find us or eventually buy some land we can shoot on. Stand by. I'm down. Always looking to train with someone. Only so much you can teach yourself. |

Ahh but I am a ghost of hometown forum past! Actually my wife and I have finally got to move back home to Oklahoma after our almost 5 year trek. I made Lieutenant back in 2011 and was shipped off to the shitshine state of Florida and then a couple years in Texass before I got hurt at work and lost the use of my left eye. Long story short the forced me to retire and now IM BAAAAAAAAAAACK |
| Well guys considering how long I've been gone I'm gonna need some catching up on stuff. 1st do y'all/we still have ARFCOM shoots like at the Lex gun range? Is Dan still above ground? And how about that scooter killer NDNway? Provided I spelt it correctly. Leaving Oklahoma for a few years tends to cause you to lose a few IQ points. |
