Is there a part of town that I should stay away from when looking for a place to live?  Also, are any of the schools better than others?  Mainly K-6

Were getting ready to move there ourselves.

Clifton is probably the least desirable place to live in the valley.  I don't think it's that bad.

Redlands is a nicer area along the Nat. Monument that is quite popular.

email/im me if you have any other quetions, as I've done a ton og HW on the area

I would wait until after the elections before commiting to a move. Colorado could go completely dem this cycle.

The results could be devastating.

Or it could be nothing.........

What type of issues are talking that could effect Grand Junction particulary, as conservative as it is?

The big issue will be State law changes. If Ritter takes the governor slot, he has fought long and hard for Denver to keep their AWB inspite of CO law. IIRC the state house and senate are Dem now. Owens, as much as I didn't like him, was not really a anti, but Ritter is for sure.

We could quickly have a Kali style AWB in the state, or even worse.

If Ritter takes it I will quickly be looking to relocate my family to NE, even though it sucks there too, but at least they are leaning more conservative.

Remember, the rural areas of Colorado are pretty conservative, but the liberal masses in the Denver Metro and liberal pickups in FTC and the Springs, will set the laws for the state.

I'm likely wrong but I don't think the polls are really that accurate an indicator of
the way the elections will go.  I still hope and pray the conservatives will win in the end.

But you are right- we could see some very horrible gun laws in place state wide if
the liberal retards take control of the governers mansion and the state legislature.

Perhaps I will spring for my 6.5 Grendel now, and then pick up as many AR lowers as I can afford judging by the elections...

Junction is an alright place, don't know much about housing, I just visit every now and then...

You could try to build a house out in Unaweep Canyon, lol.

I'm hoping the conservatives come out the woodwork come Tuesday.

Clifton is going down hill.  Since the west side of town has grown the east side is in declining.  Palisade is nice, good schools.
