Yes, best to ban those deadly airsoft guns...for the children etc etc...

Meanwhile in Ireland they have unbanned everything including Full Auto! ![]() Having said that though, you do need an FAC for an air pistol over there.... ANdy |
Late 2004. Up tll then verything except shotguns and bolt action rifles up to .270 was banned. The ban came in 1972 to stop the guns getting knicked by the IRA. A shooter called the local Superintendants bluff and asked for an elephant gun and a .22 pistol. The Super said no, they're banned. So off he goes to the Supreme Court and demands a Judicial Review. He argued that as the total ban on handguns and large bore , semi auto etc rifles had not stopped the IRA getting guns, the ban was pointless and should be set aside as it did not do what it was intended to do. The Judges agreed! So on the basis of the judgement all the 32 years of misery ended. Now the interesting thing about gun licensing in Ireland is that there is no 'official' policy on what can and can't be owned, it rests with your local Superintendent to make a decison on your application. If you can make a valid case and he agrees you can own what you want. Some people have convinced their local PoPo they need a full auto for training purposes, there are a number of Glock 18's privately owned in Ireland now. So you see, gun ban's CAN be overturned, it took 32 year but it went from almost nothing was legal to anything can be applied for. Now Northern Ireland is different again, although it is part of Britain it has much different gun laws. CCW is legal, possession of handguns and semi auto rifles for self defence is perfectly legal too. A number of Firearms Dealers own full auto HK MP5's for self defence! ANdy |
Don't you mean GPP? |
|
It's easer to get your hands on a handgun now than at any time since the end of WWII "Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said da Boyz in da Hood preferred Glocks" ANdy |
Andy that's the crazy thing If I was da gangbanger looking for some of da respect it's easy to lay ya hands on a piece. We used to be able to have them legaly now only the scum can get ahold of them. a sad state of affairs Taffy |

Look's like the title of this thread really did hit the nail on the head, even if Johan meant something else. Having read Vito's coment's about the Irish law change's, wouldn't it be possible to attempt the same in the UK? Please don't call me a witch (and burn me) on this idea, is it worth a try, or is no one willing to give it a try? Tony edited for crap s |

Quoted: i14.photobucket.com/albums/a328/Marksman142/100_0616.jpg It would appear that the top two are threaded for moderator? Or possibly recoil reducer? And the Tan Glock looks cool with the M2.........sigh....... I can only hope..... ![]() |
I think at the moment the biggest problem is public perception. The sheeple masses are too bainwashed by TV+movies, and almost all people see guns as being bad/evil. They cannot fathom the idea that people collect/enjoy guns just like people enjoy stamp collecting or jogging...this perception by the general public had been achieved by the media and government....the government especially runs a concerted campaign to keep shooting as a sport out of the minds of the sheeple...I think deep down the politicians/socialist goverment are just afraid that the people will have more power if they are allowed to have arms... |
Socialist governments instinctively fear a population with guns.... and historically they have good reason to. ANdy |
Check into the past 'credentials' of a number of New Labours Stalwarts and get back to me.... ....Joe Stalin would be proud. ![]() Cabinet Biographies ANdy |
Dave, Not being pedantic but ...... Its a H&K USP not a Glock. Ones the rolls royce of polymer pistols the others shite........ and issued to British Plod. Davey Man |

Hiya Davey, I can't hit the bull with a USP but I can with my Glock, probably need some more practice with the USP. Once got to shoot my mate's P7M8, I was gobsmacked, I had never shot a pistol so good in my whole life. alsa the authoritie's won't let me buy any more hand gun's. through trick's that shall remain a secret I already legally own more than most Toe. Sorry peep's, as a member of the glock fancier's assoc. I had to bite

That's an excellent reason to avoid this pistol like the plague.... if 'expert' Police marksmen can't it a barn door at 5 paces with these, what chance would us mere mortals? ![]() ANdy |

Nothing wrong with Glocks IMO. I like them. The problem for most people is...they aren't fancy enough. I've always found them to be accurate and reliable. And they're simple to use. The USP on the otherhand is over complicated and over engineered. And I've seen them go wrong. Rather'd have the Glock. Mark |

Sorry to butt in but I've carried a Glock for 8 years in rain, snow, heat and humidity, and have not had a problem with it. IMHO it is one of the better sidearms for the money. However it still is not as nice as my 1911-A1 for accuracy or coolness. Sorry to hit up your hometown pages but I'm headed to Ireland this summer to visit the family and I wanted to see what all the talk was. Mike |
Hey, no need to apologise, everyone's welcome to drop in here ![]() There's a few of us here that originate from the Emerald Isle anyhow. Where ya headed to?? Mark |
