Any word of any around here coming up?

I was just talking to my brother in law out in Seattle who is an LEO. He was working their buyback yesterday and told me that there were several people on the street buying guns from people that were going to turn them in. There is no law against it so Seattle PD didn't do anything about it. My BIL was actually talking to some of the people and telling them not to let anyone intimidate them because LEO doesn't have a leg to stand on and what they were doing is perfectly legal as a 'private sale'.

I think we need to do the same here...anyone game for it if they announce a buyback?

Considering how bankrupt Muderapolis and SP are, I don't expect them to try this crap.

Ever where its tried has been a failure.

That's exactly why they'll try it, because they know "This time it'll work!".

I want to say it was like 15 years ago or so, but I feel like I remember it happening once.

The last I heard of one was a few years back.  It wasn't done through any divison of government, but by one of these "non-profits" (code for thieves who set up shop in north Minneapolis and get rich off government grant money that they obtain by telling them how much better things will be when their idea gets off the ground).  The one in question got postponed a couple of times and eventually cancelled because they couldn't come up with the contributions with which they planned on buying all of these guns.

Another guy on here and I had some big plans for the event, big plans similar to the story that was recently circulating about another gun buyback event, but since it never happened...

Maybe we should try to get a government grant to do a private buyback

We just don't need to tell them how the weapons will be dispositioned.

File the legal paperwork for a "non-profit" and start submitting your grant paperwork to whomever.  Once someone bites, you're in business.
