My dad has an old rifle that his grandfather had given his father in 1923 and he wants to put up above the fireplace.  but he can't seem to find a nice gun rack.  He wants something made of wood that has a Cherry stain to it.  If anybody knows of a good store to go to or someone that can make something he'd appreciate the info thanks. And here is a pic of the rifle, its a Winchester 03.22 automatic.  And from what i found its one of the first automatic rim fire 22's to come out but i haven't found out to much so if you guys have more info about it i would be happy to hear.

Usually gun racks hold more than one gun.  If you only want to hang that one over the fireplace, I would just make a nice looking rack.  Assuming you, or someone you know has any skill with a saw and hammer...

ya we just wanted something that was real decorative and nice we're not carpenters so we don't really have the skill.  I just thought maybe someone had a wood shop and makes custom stuff to sale but oh well.

I picked up a rack that holds three long guns in it at K-mart several years ago. It is stained in a darker red somewhat like cherry. It was fairly inexpensive. You might check there or GI Joes.

I could probably whip something out if you wanted to do the finish yourself. I would suggest a simple flat piece of cherry with some brass hooks from Cabelas or Wink's hardware in SE. Let me know.

Cool old Winchester!

We have a few we want to mount about our fireplace too, but think we might need a BIGGER fireplace?
