Hey guys, I am going to be moving soon and I need to start looking at gun safes. Anyone have any ideas where to buy a decent safe for under $700? I am in SW Ohio if that helps any. I will most likely have to call Pete to move the safe for me so I was thinking about Olde English but have not had time to check them out yet as far as price. Any ideas? Thanks! |
Yeah, the one at Sam's club Link looks nice but I don't have a membership so I have not seen it in person yet. Thanks, that was one of the first ones on my list to check out. |
We bought a safe off this guy "Winson Sawmill Safes". He is at gun shows. Safes are good looking and fire proof. He will build one to your specs. Delivery was very reasonable. He is in North Ridgeville, Ohio. He delivered my safe to Southern Ohio for me. (A big one) (Turn out not big enough) Like I said he builds them or you can buy one he has sitting on the floor. Do not hold me to my price Our price was under $1000.00. Size 6ft plus high. 5ft across.24in wide. The number I have is 440-327-8812 No web page or e-mail. He is usually at Berea and Medina. May be at other shows. Has anyone else bought a safe off Winson Sawmill Safes? I'm sure he can give you as good of price as Sam's. Good luck!!! Hope you buy a big enough one!!! PITA45 ![]() |

one thing to think about is instead of having a big one think about mutiple small ones. lighter easeir to move and if you are broken into they have to get into more than just one to get all of youre toys. i have a liberty 50 gun and i love it around 1200.00 high but it was worth it and i have the sentry 25 gun ones that you see at home depot for 399.00 on sale just make shure that they have the 1/4 steel door on them. down fall of the big one was it took four people to get in the basment and had to take the guts and door off to make it light enough to move. the gun that i want is allways in the back and have to move 10 to 15 guns to get to it if they get into it they have 1/4 of my collection with less work you need a big golden rod or light bulb to keep it dry in the inside so you need a wire to go inside to. desicant just dosent keep up with it when they are in a finished basment when they are that big good thing about the big one go ahead and try to move it when its loaded an bolted to the floor and wall aint going to happen can fit light into it for the cool factor. usally better quailty more locking bolts. and prvides a good place for cover in a gun fight. bad things about little ones usally cheaper made, guns have to be closer togheter more chance of dings to the stocks and such. you will need more wall space if you need mutiple ones. good things about little ones. they will have to guess wich one has the most guns in it or is the ammo in it? they will have to break into more safes to get you guns, the theifs dont like to spend much time doing this. one of the best things to have for a safe is one of those oc gernades that go off and flood the room that is motion activated they wont hang around long with this going off, trust me i know. just my 2 cents |
| Whatever safe you get I'd think about arming it with a www.burglarbomb.com. There was a post just a week ago of a criminal in Toledo stealing the whole safe. |
