There's a show coming up in Raleigh soon. Dixie Gun & Knife.....last time I went was 10 years ago and they had what I considered to be ALOT of military type rifles; is this still the case? How are the prices compared to other shows? |
| i dont go to the gun shows like i used to. if im not buying a gun or powder/primers i had rather just order the stuff. if i decide to get a rra entry tactical ill go and check the prices and maybe get one. if not ill give my son money for powder and primers and he can pick that up. |

Not that I don't like to do my own research, but off hand - what's the maximum effective range? What do they go for these days new / used ? ETA: I do not know much about bolt action rifles... NADA as far as optics go. I may need a left handed rifle - but won't be sure until I can shoulder the rifle and find out for sure. Your help is definately appreciated. |
Typically--and depending on your application of course--in the line of bolt action rifles--be prepared to spend more on glass than on the rifle itself. |

| It's the only show I go to since it's near by. Yeah there's a RRA dealer, and for DIY'rs Black Rifle Works and Del-ton is there. Ammo's available but price is all increased, Ammunitionstore usually has a table there. You might see 1 or 2 Colt LE rifles at most at the show, hit or miss. |
| At 100 yards, using Federal Gold 168 grain BTHP, Luepoled Mk4LRT, my holes were literally on top of each other. Coolest thing I ever saw. Great accuracy. I wish I could find a longer range to zero on. If I could do it again I would have bought a 10X super sniper instead of the Mk4 though. |
