Hey guys...
I am interested in learning how to build an AR15 OR AK47 type rifle.  Is there any body in MN that holds classes?  It could be spread out over several days/weeks/months. I think it would be great to have a few classes designing, then buying (group buys?) parts and then a few more classes bolting them together ending with a shoot.

Sully has 2 day armoring classes.....for AR and Glocks, shotguns, and precision rifles
The AR class was great!

From what everybody has said, Sully's AR class is excellent.

I've never taken it.

I would love to take a class on how to rivot and assemble an AK but I've never seen any in our area.

Save your pennies. DE's class is not to be missed. Usually offered in the coldest month.

Taken the DE AR15 Armoring class twice, and also once through the GLOCK and the shotgun class.  Some of the best spent money I've ever laid out--I can't recommend them enough.

There was talk of an AK building party last winter, but I don't think it ever happened.

dpmmn holds AK bulding classes weekly!

I would also recommend Defensive Edge SLR15 armorers class.

I hate it when people do this, but....

+1

The defensive edge armorers classes are top notch---good enough that I will take them again, of course that can be said of most of Defensive Edge's classes

still waiting for an invite to dpmmn's how to build an ak class

SO--after a DE AR class I should have the knowledge to be able to build an AR?

Does the DE advice also apply to a .308 version of the AR system, or would I most likely have to go to DPMS for that? (if they do have classes).

Oh yeah you strip yours down to bare bones!  Just have to have the equipment to do it!
That is unless you are Death451 and have God knows how much Wolf through the AR and heat needs to be applied!...........................Just kidding P!

ChickenDaddy,
we cover all the aspects of the AR15/M16 weapons system.  If you have a .308 and wish to use it in class that is fine as we have tools and parts on hand for it.  You will have the opportunity to gain a full knowledge of the entire weapons system in our armoring course, and will be able to build, upgrade & modify your weapons system as you wish.
