Quoted: Quoted: Being that it's going to be in the Pavillion, there's not a chance in hell that I'm going to go. Way too crowded in there. ![]() I forgot! This weekend combines airplanes and firearms! I guess I'll be there 0800-2400 or until I get told to, "Didi mao!" ![]() Yup, hang out at the Gunshow and mosey over to the Aviation Tradeshow for the WX lectures. |

Quoted: Well I scored and ran into 1 member from here. It seems to me that there was a little more space between the tables. I had a good time. I came away with http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u46/maxdun/net%20junk/BB-Groupshot-2006.gif Spankybear is drooling over those now..................................... |

I know several gun shops where I can look at guns, parts, and ammo without paying to get in. That's creepy................................ Get with the program, brother! Show up! I chose to go join the angry mob at Dawn Morrell's Town Hall instead.

Picked up new springs for 6 AR mags, to go w/the 6 Magpul followers I bought from Guns 'n' Shizzle last time. Also a rail-mount sling swivel for the AR. Drooled over a damascus Viking sword. Amazed they didn't call security on me. Mrs. Drang bought three knives. Or four. I'm not sure. She claims I only married her for her knife collection. Which keeps growing. I think I'll make a note to myself to skip future Pavillion/Expo Hall shows. Note: Not a reloader, but I saw lots of primers. Complete uppers are rife, and inexpensive. Oh, yes, if you're renewing, or buying a new membership, pack a lunch...

Were there pitchforks, torches, or lynchings?I chose to go join the angry mob
I wonder what they'd do if someone did show up with a pitchfork. ![]() There was several polices officers there actually. Turns out she had received death threats, but she decided to be all political about it and spent her first 5 to 7 minutes going on and on about how unfortunate it is to have threats made to her and her family. I had no problem with her mentioning it, but it was the first thing that came out of her mouth and it seemed she was trying extra hard to get folks to feel sorry for her. Oh well, the next two hours were spent with her getting ripped by one pissed off constituent after another.
I would estimate the crowd was around 80 and about 90% of those present were there to rip into her. She played dodge ball with our questions and at one point she even admitted she doesn’t care if we vote her out of office (at least she was honest).

Oh, yes, if you're renewing, or buying a new membership, pack a lunch... Hell, non-members had to pack a lunch and a sleepingbag to get into this one. Took my friend longer to get through the entrance line than to drive to the show from Seattle. Haven't they heard of using more than one person to take money? This was my 1st time back in a year. Not much had changed, but I got some exercise, sold a gun, hung out with my friend and my 7yo and generally had a good time. Except for the joker who swept my head with his Glock while un-holstering for security |

What is the deal with memberships and guns shows here in WA? If I'm reading this right, I couldn't just go to the show even though I'm looking for survival gear or other stuff that's non a firearm? The gun show "promoter" that has shows at Puyallup and Monroe is a "gun club" and requires membership to buy or sell FIREARMS. If you're not gonna bring guns in or out, then no membership is needed however if you plan to attend the shows regularly, then it pays for itself (or at least used to) as you get in free as a member. No other shows in WA that I know of require membership. |

I'll pop in again this morning; I gotta say that I was pretty disappointed in yesterday's clusterfuck of a gunshow..... Sorry Max I did see you and your new toy waking around but didn't realize it was you until it was too late. I should be more social. I wouldn't have talked to you any way, I am an operator now. |

They started out having their gun shows in the Kent Community Center, ages ago. They were at thre Puyallup Fairgrounds in '83, when I first reported to Ft Lewis. Unfortunately, the Western Washington Fairgrounds, makes them jump through hoops or the venue, which is the best available in Western Washington. (Trust me, we've hashed it out...) Most of the shit that people bitch about the WAC over is due to either a restriction based on their lease––i.e., WWF imposed, like "no loaded guns even for CPL carry"––or done in self-defense. There have been a few dealers that got banned because they sold firearms to non-members; in at least one case the board of directors was going to go with a suspension, until it was pointed out that the bylaws did not allow for that. (It was an extremely busy show, and apparently there had been some confusion about who was buying what.) All in all, I'd agree that, if you're going to go even a couple of times a year it's worth a membership. |
|
Ahhhh....... So, you need membership in WAC...........to buy or sell firearms at the shows run by WAC. That sounds more like an extra revenue getter (for WAC) rather than a restriction by the venue. And, even if it wasn't............it still sucks. Which begs the question......... Is the property "privately owned" and receiving NO taxpayer support?
