So I should apply for a CCW, even though I will not be carrying, just so that I can get around hassles at gun shows? Good loop hole.

It's not really a loophole. It's like pre-registration. You have to go through the background check to get your permit.
I guess if you plan to become a convicted felon in the near future and don't mind lying about it on the ATF paperwork, then it's a loophole.

Just apply to your local police department. You'll go thru fingerprinting & an interview. If you're clean, in 8-10 weeks, you'll have your permit. There are no loopholes. FU with your gun or permit, you can stick a fork in yourself. If you want a 'faster way to get some cool toys', you've come to the wrong place.
