Why don't bloody gunshops ever answer their emails. They advertise stuff in the magazines or on their websites, you ask a simple question and you never get an answer. All I want is a decent carbon remover and copper solvent. You'd think they been keen to gain custom , but apparently not! Rant over, thank you.

I've tracked down two who claim to supply it through their advertising but neither answer their emails. I gave up on them and tried someone else for KG products but they are out of stock. At this rate it will be much quicker, and a far better customer experience, getting it from Brownells! |
Who? About that team membership....... moving on, I'd stay away from that KG stuff. It's evil and I wouldn't imagine it's not much good for your health. Mpro 7 on the other hand is bio-degradable and completely harmless (usual caveats apply) You may think I have a vested interest but I don't. It's just that I haven't come across anything better I consider it to be sh*t-hot |
That's mainly because the customer will ask you for your advice and time in answering, and to do it properly you have to add links etc, and then usually he'll order or buy somewhere cheaper or at his local gunshop, leaving you empty handed. While I was in sales (gun sales person), I once spent an hour demonstrating some rifle or other to a customer, who then had a look at his watch and said 'oh sorry I'll have to go or I'll be late', and left. That potential customer never returned and I learned an important lesson. The other possibility is that they are illiterate ignorant idiots. Tony |
I've tried loads of different cleaning products and been dissappointed with nearly all - especially the KG stuff. I do use the KG1 carbon remover with a phosphor bronze brush - not sure about the health effects but it does remove the carbon and starts to shift the copper. The other KG stuff was crap and I ended up binning it To remove copper I use Sweets 7.62. It really DOES shift copper but it is ammonia based and aggressive as hell and you can't leave it in your barrel for much over 15 minutes - then I clean barrel with Butches Bore shine to remove any residues and patch it out with a little light oil the dry patches until dry. It does clean the barrel (i've seen the results many times with a boresope and they are good) - but as Mark says they are not the nicest of chemicals and its a lot of faffing. Depends how anal you want to be. A lot of the Bench Rest and F class guys use similar products and regimes but there seems to be the beginnings of a shift to some of the more modern cleaning agents like Mpro 7On the other hand you could block up the muzzle and piss in your barrel. The ammonia will clean the copper out nicely according to an old boy at my local pub who fought in WWII..... ![]() ![]() I'm keen to try the MPro 7 but haven't seen any yet - seems like a lot less messing about and not as nasty. I suppose the only way to know is to shoot as you normally would and then try different cleaning products each time and look at the results through a borescope. |
Yep, one of the two who advertise M Pro 7, but a simple "do you have the copper solvent because it's not on your website?" has gone unanswered. Or perhaps that is the answer
|
I'm sorry that your mail has gone unanswered. I will chase it up, and we will get back to you shortly. |
Try Brownells |
MidwayUK can currently supply all M-Pro 7 products apart from the copper solvent, which is currently classed as Hazardous Materials, so we cannot ship it, but we are working to resolve this issue. Your email has gone unanswered, because we are trying to resolve the issue, and we will let you know when we know more. |
Would've been nice if you'd told him you were looking into it |
..see the M Pro 7 thread
