Maybe this has already been mentioned in the legislative watch thread, but I found that thread a bit cumbersome to read and that this topic warrants its own thread https://www.wlky.com/article/kentucky-chiefs-bill-ban-glock-switches/70320395 The article admits that such devices are already illegal at the federal level, but wants to make it so at the state level as well. I have seen a push by several other 2nd Amendment friendly states to do so. 1) As a general rule, we don’t need more laws. Existing laws need to be enforced non-selectively or stricken from the books entirely 2) Let’s not further infringe upon our rights that are already having such done at the federal level. We should be pushing in the opposite direction—passing laws that remove infringements at the state level Many will say that this isn’t the hill to die on , optics, etc., but….If you give a mouse a cookie… |

 House Standing Committee on Veterans, Military Affairs, and Public Protection (2-24-26) After receiving a committee change last week, this bill passed easily out of VMAP today. Watch the video - note TJ Roberts explanation of vote. As mentioned before... if you give a mouse a cookie. He clearly mentioned his fear that this would lead to a ban on FRTs, binaries and such. When a member of leadership files a bill - they'll make sure it gets a hearing. |

Look at the proposed legislation in WV that is doing the opposite regarding machine gun ownership… We should be fighting for less restrictions on the state level as well |

Passed in House today According to KET video stream - several of the "Not Voting" reps were on the floor at this time. Vote history ETA: I find it interesting that not one single legislator spoke against the bill. Pure speculation on my part is perhaps they were told " we're voting on this today... it's going to pass... if you say anything against this bill to draw more attention then you can forget any of your primary sponsored bills seeing the light of day in The Orders of the Day for the remainder of this session" |
