Hand-to-hand is not something that you're going to get a lot out of going to a few classes. You need a lot of practice with an actual opponent.
That's why I hate those women's self-defense classes. You take pretty much any woman fresh out of a self-defense class or two and any average dude that decides to hurt her is going to wipe the floor with her. |

My son is in a BJJ class and I was working with the boxing/kickboxing coach during his class for a while. I finally realized that was something that needed more time than I had. Each class was like the first class because I didn't have time to practice stuff between classes. |

Depending upon my schedule and when I can get to class- I went out and got a Bob and a reflex bag to increase my hand speed and hand to eye coordination for striking. This way I could work on strikes and drills between classes. |
