anything has got to be better than Shooting Sports mag, 'cos thats shite these days ![]() I used to buy it. I even had a subscription as a gift. But now I find there is less stuff relevant to me in there. I can usually read the interesting bits while standing in WH Smiths. And spend the £3+ I have saved on a some ammo ! I think the internet might kill off magazines like this one. I certainly find more info and entertainment relating to shooting on forums such as this one - the reviews / advice here are certainly more honest. |

Target Sports......good shooting magazine in my opinion...meets what I want.
Spends less time arse kissing manufacturers with (mostly) bullshit reviews and most of the regular columns are written by people who REALLY know theis subject, with good gunsmithing, custom rifle construction and exceptionally well researched load data. More for the discerning target shooter than the hunter-killer, but well worth a look. |

Target Sports is a much better mag IMO, whereas Shooting Sports has descended into clothing, footwear, torches and airgun reviews... And I cannot remember a review even being on the lines of "honestly readers, this rifle is crap - avoid it" - the product is always deemed ok - then there is the manufacturers / retailers big costly advert on the next page ! I say, put Jeremy Clarkson in charge of the magazine !! I seem to remember a rumour that Nissan UK will only supply vehicles to Top Gear on the understanding that Hammond or May test them ! |
