| Figure I would introduce myself, I'm in Sacramento, been here a little over a year now, moved up from San Diego but I was born and raised in the bay. I'm currently building my first AR and figure I'll be asking plenty of questions, actually I have two lowers I'm working on, a Spikes lower and a Quentin Defense .308 lower. |

welcome.
im about 45 mins east of sacramento, if your looking for a good range head out to sacramento valley shooting center its own in ione. by far the best range around, plenty of covered rifle bays/pistol bays/ 1000 yard rifle range, 100-300 yard rifle range, good staff and good enviroment, lots to offer there and there are a lot of good events that happen there. they are only open to the public on the weekends though, also dont use GPS to get there go to their website, if you use gps i hope your in a truck because it will take you on a dirt road that can be pretty rough on a car... especially if its lowered |

Welcome aboard!
If you click on the AR-15 tab at the top of the page, there are three subforums which are perfect for your upcoming questions - Build It Yourself Troubleshooting Maintenance & Cleaning There is some seriously good info in there. I'd bet every one of your questions has been addressed. There may be particular details you can't find or don't understand. It's a forum - just ask. The Equipment Exchange can get you the parts and tools you'll need at decent prices. |

I'll have to go check them out soon, they look like just what I was hopping to find, maybe when I get done with all these midterms I'll drive myself out there and take a look around. And thanks for the tip about GPS, I have a truck but it has a lowered suspension and is not a fan of bumpy roads. |
| Thanks for the welcome! Anyone have any favorite shops? Here in Sac I've been using Golden State Tactical, when I lived in Petaluma I used Montana Hawk (no longer around, but I sure do miss them) and Markell's who always treated me well. I got my .308 lower from Wild Built Tactical in San Diego and they have been good to me as far as SD prices go. |
