I want to say hello to everyone here after lurking for a bit. I like the quality and content of this forum and have decided to jump in.

After watching the news and paying attention to this election, it is nice to see that conservatives are not extinct. I see a good amount of them here in Colorado Springs, but the state has changed over the years.

Did Russ Johnson leave/get kicked off of KVOR? I have not heard him on in a few days.

Howdy Rev, and welcome aboard.  I noticed the other day that KVOR had changed their programming, Glenn Beck is now on 'til 4, with Sean Hannity afterwards.

Yeah, the Springs is still the conservative heart of the state, but them pesky Californicators helped turn the state blue...

I am bummed they extended Beck's slot, he was the one host I did not like listening to and Hannity's schedule worked better with my listening times.

No doubt, we are being invaded by them...

Hey!!

No hating on my state!

Nothing personal, 4xDawn, but it's a fact.  There were "Don't Californicate Colorado" bumperstickers going around over 30 years ago...  and it has happened.  The influx of Californians really picked up in the '90s; they were house rich from selling their properties there, came here and drove up the real estate market like crazy.  The population has more than doubled in 30 years, mostly from out of staters, and most of them from California.  What's worse, they fled the mess they made in California, then came here and voted in legislators that are recreating the policies that ruined California in the first place.  Colorado was a much nicer place in the Seventies...

I was thinking about something very similar to this today, wish I had the time to call into Rush while at work....

Californians are expecting us to adapt to their culture while they do nothing to understand us. It relates to libs expecting us to walk across the isle, while they will never do the same.

I still love you Dawn. :)

Still love ya too.

Not all Californians are cut from the same cloth though, and I hope you all realize that the re are a lot of great people here, and we are staying.

I am with both of you. I have zero problems with people coming here. It is generally great for the economy and most who come here love Colorado and they are welcome. But for god sakes, don't vote in the same type of politicians that drove you to leave your home state. It just drives me nuts

The problem is the influx of moonbat, hippie, Kalifornicators are outnumbering the true conservatives that are fleeing the dump.

I don't know about you guys, but even the "conservatives" I've met from Cali are quite liberal.

As a former PRK subject, I left behind what few "liberal" values I had Prior to moving to CO, I didn't own a single gun (though I've NEVER been against gun ownership and always felt gun control was a bunch of BS).  I've been here 4.5 years now, have a carry permit, own 15+ guns, am a NRA instructor, etc etc etc.  Sadly, most of the PRK refugees are not like me

Welcome!  "ARFCOM" is a great place with plenty of good folks.

DEFCON is too modest, but we also have a great local place to meet/greet folks:

www.co-ar15.com/co-ar15.htm

Another "local" to CO SPGS shoot coming up... I really hope to make this one!

We're trying to figure out why that "4xDawn" girl is here in CO HTF, but she's good people and welcome -- she's a "cool" Kali!
