Hiding in Phoenix for a few days to attend the NMRLA National Shoot at the Ben Avery Range.
Costco is nearby so food runs are easy. Life is good. |

Thanks all. We visited Pioneer Village last year. Great place and if there are interpreters, you can learn a heckuva lot.
My sight had drifted and so I'll try again tomorrow. For dinner, we had rice noodles but didn't have a collander to strain it. We almost bought one for $5 at Wallyworld but bought a large can of peaches instead ($1.98). After filling (gorging ourselves with peaches), I took my punch from my gonne-smithing tool box and in the buckskinner tradition of making do with what was available, punched out a starburst type pattern. It worked too and we were able to cook our noodles and drain it. |

Did a lot better today after tapping the sight over a bit. 4/5 in the black. Going to retry tomorrow.
Anyway, the NMRLA is offering a free four hour range officer class on Thursday, Mar 4 at 3 pm. It will be conducted at the Range House where you register for the matches. |

Back home now.
I tried the Rock Springs Cafe (exit 242) and despite its boast about having the best pie in the world, I thought it fell far short of that claim. First, the crust was not light which means it wasn't made with lard or shortening. It was rather heavy and thick. The apples smacked of canned apples and not fresh apples that were peeled and cored. The layer of apples in it was short of generous too. My friend had the blueberry pie and complained the blueberries were tasteless. He thought his crust was thick and underbaked. BTW, stay away from their pizza. They use regular spaghetti sauce, don't have hot chili or parmesan cheese for it. Nothing special there. |
