The wife and I just got back from a trip to KY. We loved visiting her family and shooting while we were there. Beautiful state, and the people up there were really nice. You guys have it pretty good up there.

My wife is from New Castle, so we spent most of our time there.

lastblack 80:

Roget that!

The Commonwealth seems to be luring this shooter there to retire to. I love Texas, dang, I do. Grayson, Cooke, Collin, Hunt, Denton Counties––I love 'em all in Texas.

But with that *#*^ drought Texas is having, water is a must for me and my horses. Then, that doggone Barnett Shale drilling everywhere bugs me. Great $$$ if you hold the mineral rights, less great if you have a rig going in a few hundred feet from your home. The Texas Railroad Commission that regulates oil & gas doesn't seem to give a hoot for "little people," just energy outfits. Just my humble opinion.

Marcellus and Utica shale plays in Kentucky are over in the eastern region, where mining is a great industry, so farmers and homeowners won't be affected.

Kentucky has plenty of great rich soil and water. Two big pluses for this retiree....

WHOOPS!

My fault, lastblack80. I reckon I been living too long here up North (65 summers) among Yankees and have forgotten my manners:

"HOWDY and WELCOME!" with your first post.

Yes we do have it pretty nice here and we don't tell everybody about it like the Texans do cause we wanna keep it to ourselves. By the way I live in Henry County 15 miles from New Castle would have been nice to meet another Arfcommer.
