Does anyone know where I might find a parkerized Springfield Loaded relatively local to the Canton/Waleska area? I turn 21 next month and want to buy one to celebrate, but I can't seem to find one. I have checked Cherokee, Hi Caliber, Big Woods, and Bargain Barn without any luck. The general thought I am told is that trying to order one would take months with the panic buying going on. Does anyone know of a store that might have one? It is the PX9109LP model. Thanks in advance for the help.

Springfields are hard to come by. I got a TRP about two months ago but I had to order it online and shipped to my FFL. Online is going to be your best bet. In case you haven't noticed there is a panic buy at the moment so best of luck to you.

That's what I was afraid of. I was hoping to support a local shop, but I guess if that doesn't work out I'll go the online route.

Have you considered STI? A good 1911 for the price. One of their entry level pistol is the Spartan. Much like the Springfield loaded but it had a target-style rear sight aperture.

Food for thought. Good luck on your quest.

I've usually got several SA 1911's in stock.

Right now I have a Range Officer and a parked Mil-Spec in stock.

I sold my last loaded Mil-Spec to someone from the GAHTF last Saturday.

hunterboy, if you can afford the difference, get the Range Officer.

Cherokee had the Range officer, and it was actually less than the loaded model they had a couple months back. The only thing I don't like about it is the sights. This will be a carry piece mainly after time to shoot it and get used to it, so I'm not sure about the target sights. Thoughts?

I don't feel the adjustable rear sight (a copy of the Bomar) to be a hindrance on a carry piece.  If it bothers you, Harrison Custom Designs makes a replacement fixed sight for that cut. You can get them from Brownell's.

I will definitely look into it then. I did like the way it felt, but didn't know a lot about them. I may have to make another trip out to Cherokee Gun this week. Thanks everyone for the help. Now if it will just stick around until February...

How far are you from Savannah?  We have a few shops that stock the hell out of springers, kimbers, and various other 1911's.  LMK and I can get you the hook up

Thanks for the offer, but I'm about an hour north of Atlanta so Savannah is a bit far. After discussing the issue with Cmshoot, unless one of the local stores gets the loaded model I'll probably get the Range Officer as long as it doesn't get sold. I have just over a month so a lot can change between now and then.

They'll probably let you put money down on the firearm as long as you're not purchasing at that exact moment.  Usually you don't have to do the ATF form until you purchase.  Check with them and see if they'll let you throw some denero down to hold it for you.

I may ask about it. I'm thinking I'll go back Friday and check it out some more. I'll talk to the guys then. Thanks again for all the help y'all.
