| I live in FL and a guy invited up to GA to do some hog hunting. I've never done it and am unfamiliar with GA laws. Are there any rules I need to know before using an AR-15 on private land in GA.....like 5 round mag limits or anything I can't think of???...I've already purchased a non-resident hunting permit. |

no limit, no restrictions, no mag limits, nothing
IF you are in public land like a WMA you have to hunt it with the weapon that is in season. for example right now it's deer season but only for bows. you have to hunt them like the deer. (no baiting, no suppressors, no night shooting) if you are on private land it's open season. suppressors, lights, night vision, etc.... |
| Guy taking me says he never uses this land (he lives in FL) and once he shows me ropes I'm more than welcome to come up and shoot pigs as I please. SE/SC Georgia I believe.....does anyone know what round would be best for my.45 as a pig sidearm...I got 230 grain FMJ and 230 grain gold dot hollows? |

Just make sure you buy a GA hunting license.
I think it will cost you a little over $200.00 as a non-resident. Hell, I should know exactly what it will cost since I've been selling them all day but there are quite a few combinations so the figures get mixed up in my head after a long day. TD |

Why dont you have a FL/GA HTF meet and greet/ pig KILLING party. just a thought

So for the Hogs I don't see anything saying no silencers. So does that mean they are G2G?
The section you posted about no silencers also talks about plugged shotguns. Since we don't have to have plugged shotguns for hogs I wouldn't think the silencer part holds for them either. Anyone know for sure? Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

I got that from under the "Legal Hunting Equipment" section. You still may be able to get a nuisance permit and use a silencer...........call DNR and ask. Unless u come across one that is a a$$hole, dont think they are going to give any problems to hunters hunting wild pigs. now just dont get caught shineing a light out truck window, then ur screwed. Now on ft benning my dad is on the list for special hunting rights for killing pigs. he can hunt over bait, bait traps for them, hunt @ night with spot lights, and even hunt in areas where reg hunters cant go. been a couple of times with him it has been fun and scary (came across a couple rattlers while stomping thru the woods). |
